Best book I never read
- By Maria Brooks on 18-02-2015
Publisher's Summary
Eleanor is the new girl in town, and she's never felt more alone. All mismatched clothes, mad red hair and chaotic home life, she couldn't stick out more if she tried. Then she takes the seat on the bus next to Park. Quiet, careful and - in Eleanor's eyes - impossibly cool, Park's worked out that flying under the radar is the best way to get by.
Slowly, steadily, through late-night conversations and an ever-growing stack of mix tapes, Eleanor and Park fall in love. They fall in love the way you do the first time, when you're 16, and you have nothing and everything to lose.
Set over the course of one school year in 1986, Eleanor & Park is funny, sad, shocking and true - an exquisite nostalgia trip for anyone who has never forgotten their first love.

I loved this book!
This was such a beautifully written story that was so engaging and enjoyable to read. I loved the way the relationship developed gradually between the two characters so you really felt their growing connection to each other. The narration was great and I liked hearing the story from both perspectives through the alternating chapters. I am now a Rainbow Rowell fan and currently reading another of her books, which I'm having trouble putting down!

Nice story, rubbish, incomplete ending
it's a nice story just a shame 3rd way through the book Eleanor becomes this most unlikeable character & the ending isn't just disappointing, it's a joke. it is an incomplete book. Really disappointed with the last quarter of the book, which is a shame because I was really getting into it.

Beautiful and real
The performances were wonderfully immersive and the stories and characters almost painfully real. A story of helplessness, how hard the realities of life can be and the redemptive power of first love. Remarkable

GREAT TEEN LOVE STORY
This story is about love but not how you look. Love is how you get along and how you can't live without the other person. Every teen should listen or read this book. 5 out of 5 for me. I loved it.

The Never Ending Story
I think the book was read well and the voices sounded how I think the characters would sound like, the only thing I didn't like was the ending of the book it left me on a cliffhanger and kinda confused on what had happened apart from the it was a good story and wasn't your typical stereotypical love story.
