Die Lesenden fragen sich am Ende, weshalb den großen griechischen Tragödienschreibern dies nicht auch eingefallen ist. Damals war zwar manchmal der Tod ebenso noch nicht das Ende der Geschichte aber bei Kleist scheint sie sogar erst in ihre wichtigste Phase einzutreten.
