Revellers are flocking into Greenborough for the yearly Dark Greenborough Festival, a three-day event celebrating local folklore, superstition, and the darker side of life.
What the public doesn't know is that there has been a warning sent to the police, saying that Greenborough will be a very dangerous place this year. The anonymous letter ends with the Latin phrase, Mors certa, hora incerta: Death is certain, the hour uncertain.
DI Nikki Galena and her team soon discover this is no hoax, as people start dying from what appears to be alcoholic poisoning. Things rapidly escalate, and as the deaths get more horrific, Nikki realizes they have a serial killer in their midst.

Book 10 and all is well…
I can’t get enough of this incredible series. Book 10 and still 4 to go… awesome 👏 these long meaty series are the best. Story after story with the same people who start to feel like your friends and loved ones. They feel comfy to listen to and you actually start to have feelings and emotions for them and their comrades lives.
The narration is amazing again! Henrietta Meier has sunk herself into this series. Her character’s voices are always the same not even a slight deviation now. Well done my dear I’m loving you more and more.

Another straight- through read
Luckily I was engrossed enough in the story to be able to mostly shut off my irritation with the narrator's rendition of a high-pitched posh-type voice and over emphasises like she's reading a "Boys Own" adventure. The northern English accents were a balm to my ears.
