The gripping new race-against-time thriller by the best-selling author of Relentless, The Last 10 Seconds and The Final Minute.
I had a simple choice. Stay here and almost certainly be discovered.
Or get up and run.
When Jane Kinnear sees her lover being murdered, she suddenly finds herself in danger. Taken to an anonymous police safe house, it soon becomes clear that her lover was an MI5 informant with important information about an imminent terrorist attack.
DI Ray Mason of Counter Terrorism Command is a man with a controversial past, but his effectiveness at getting results means that he's now been given the task of preventing the attack from taking place. But can he be trusted, and does he know more about the attack than he's letting on?
In the safe house, Jane is trying to piece together a description of her lover's killer. But what she doesn't know is that the killer has already found out who she is and where she is hiding.
And now he's coming for her....

"Genuine Action Story With a Very Good Performance"
Yes I will, because it is action from the very first minute to the last minute with an excellent performance with a female voice for female characters and male voices for male characters what ought to be a standard. At least for all top selling stories.
The doings of the main character filled most of the time in this story without him being any kind of an unrealistic superman.
The Caribian island scene.
Just as in some other Simon Kernic books, there are a few parts which doesn't really fit together and some strange matters are not explained at all. However, it is an action novel with the very best performance I've heard in ages what makes it a good choice.
"A good listen"
I'm giving this a 4 rating. It is better than average. Yes, it is spies , bad guys, guns, egos, red herrings, terrorism -sort of- tosed togethr in a book that is fun to listeen to - with a trailer that I hopes leads to a sequel. It takes pkace in Britain so ee see their attitude to guns- so different to Amrtia's.
Sorry, but couldn't stand the female narrator. Totally spoiled it for me no matter how many times I tried to get into it. Loved the other books but will think twice about listening to any more
"Not the best from this author"
I was so looking forward to this and thoroughly enjoyed the first chapter but just couldn't get away with the narrator change, it spoilt it for me.
"Don't waste your credit"
This could have been a great book. Sadly the way the narrative is written is cliché and more than a little predictable!!
"Hooray for Paul Thornley!"
Jonathan Keeble is quite good, Diana Kent very disappointing with a wishy washy voice. Made me lose concentration on the story. Paul Thornley is the only one to read Simon Kernik's books...he is excellent. Story not quite up to Kernik's usual standard I feel, although that might be because of the different readers.
Solid story and great pace, though not the authors best, but the production was poor! Voice actors fine in themselves but the chopping and chandigarh didn't work for me at all.
"Not the best"
Best is Ray's relationship with his partner, Chris and his continued disrespect for the doing things the 'proper' way.
The absolutely unbelievable female character.
Oh yes! Paul Thornley is one of my favourite narrators. The narration by Paul is excellent; however the wish washy voice of the actor playing Jane, lost my attention on more than one occasion.
Simon Kernick is an excellent author, this one though wasn't his best.
"Hooked me in"
Sacrificed most of my Sunday to finish this story. I couldn't stop listening. Intriguing and believable story from the underworld of serious crime. I hope there is a sequel. Narrators were excellent and matched the parts they played. loved it.
"another tour dear force from Simon Kernick"
this is yet another great tale from Simon Kernick. fast paced, believable and riveting. The narration is also really good.
"The best yet"
Fantastic storyline and totally believable. Liked the 3 narrator set up
A good ending allowing the story to extend further.
A recommend read.
saw the "twist" coming a mile off. won't bother with more by this author. the story got more
ridiculous as time went on. I can't believe anyone was really surprised by the outcome.
