"Interesting new author"
I was looking for new author to listen to. Interesting plot but different plot lines not fully explained before moving on. Narrator was good but needs to separate his characters voices better. Sometimes very confusing listening to dialogue to know which character is speaking Overall worth a listen.
A multifaceted plot that covers a lot of ground and is held together by a compelling and complex female lead. This is not an author who is shy of placing his characters in dark and difficult positions, which makes this book less predictable than other thrillers out there and means that the plot spirals and unfurls in a very satisfying manner. The narration is excellent and the pacing is good. Not one for people who don't want to peer into the darker side of the human psyche but thoroughly enjoyable.
"Brilliant from start to finish.."
I found this story to be great at keeping my interest. It is easy to immerse yourself in the story and just go with it all. There were certain twists that were easy to spot but overall I lived it.
Very disturbing subject matter and the descriptions at time are pretty horrific.
The reading was excellent, it moved at pace with some good voicing which kept my attention.
Would recommend this, it's awesome.
"Unusual and eery."
Incredibly strong atmosphere, gets under your skin... Can't stop listening, no idea where he's taking you with the narrative. Surprising and unsettling.
"one of the best books of its kind i have listened"
I wouild if they liked criminal & thrillers, because this is certainly a thriller from start to finish.
But you realy need to listen very carefully. I have had to go back to listen to parts I missed,or you loose the thread of the story.
The story gose up & down all the time so it is difficult to pick one bit.
I have listened to this narrator before, he always manages to change character very well so you don't notice a man playing a woman, excelent,
It's about evil and children, who would not be moved about the whole situation.
It's about the people who try to stop this evil, and how they are affected.
Although this is about the worst of crimes, and at first i was not sure I wanted to listen to it ,but as I have said it is also about the characters who work on these situations, and how it affects them.
Certainly by this author
Took this on holiday with me and was worried it wouldn't last out.I needn't have done. I took a week to finish it by sheer willpower. The story was unbelievable, the unnecessary
descriptive passages just felt like padding.
