Samuel Hoenig answers questions for a living. And as a man with Asperger's syndrome, his unique personality helps him ferret out almost any answer there is. But his latest question is a rather odd one: who stole a preserved head from the Garden State Cryonics Institute?
Arriving at the scene of the crime accompanied by his new colleague, Ms. Washburn, Samuel finds that what started out as a theft has escalated to murder. With suspects and motives emerging at a rapid rate, one final question remains: can Samuel's powers of deduction uncover a killer in the face of overwhelming odds?

"It is "Asperger's" NOT "Asberger's"!!!!"
Since we have to cases of Asperger's Autism in our home, I thought I knew what to expect. This is a great little mystery. I am very impressed with Samuel and was thrilled the way this case turned out for him. If you are the least interested in the way an Asperger's mind works, this is a good place to start!! I can't wait for the next book!!! Bring it on Audible!!
"The curious incident of...."
If you ever wanted to know what would happen to Christopher Boone(The curious incident of the dog in the night-time) if he grew up in america and became a detective(somewhat) then this book is for you. A very endearing character. looking forward to the next one. also, very well narrated.
I wasn't sure what to expect but I thoroughly enjoyed a new twist on a mystery story. The fact that the narrator/hero has Asperger's syndrome was used quite effectively to tell the story from a unique perspective. I was pleasantly surprised. The only real flaw in my view is that the police were portrayed as unrealistically ineffective, but it kept the tone of the story light and a bit humorous. I look forward to the next book in the series!
"The Effective Detective"
Amazing start to a new series. A thoroughly enjoyable read. I can't wait for the next installment.
Loved it. Well written and well performed. Now I am waiting for the next in this sequence.
As a clinical psychologist, I enjoy books in which the authors express what I consider as psychological truths. No Aspergergers' expert I; however I thoroughly enjoyed the description from Samuel ' s perspective. Also appreciated the humor throughout. Thank you!
"insightful and Charming!"
Affords great insights into the world of a brilliant young problem solver with Asperger's Syndrome. Not your usual murder mystery!
I really like the characters the story was good too and narated well. I LOOK forward to the next question to be answered
I can't wait for the next one in the series. it was a very intetestingv viewpoint. and the plot is great..
"Don't Hesitate to listen to this Series"
I did and it was a mistake. I gave enjoyed EJ's other books tremendously, but just kept scrolling past this series. But, I absolutely fell in love with this series, mostly the main character just draws you in and you never want to leave.
Would definitely recommend. I loved the interaction between the hero and the leading women.
This was described as what the protagonist of "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night" would do as an adult and it was just that.
I hope this is the first of many. A joy to listen to.
"I enjoyed this mystery from start to finish."
The well balanced narration from Mark Boyett.
That's a hard one!
I like Samuel, Ms Washburn and Mrs Hoenig...as they all bring something to the story in their own right.
When Samuel knew something was wrong with Ms Washburn.
This is one series that I will continue to follow...just like all of E. J. Copperman/Jeff Cohen books. They are all a delight to read!
