Publisher's Summary

Where is Kent Heyward?

The 23-year-old heiress from one of Charleston's oldest families vanished a month ago. When her father hires private investigator Liz Talbot, Liz suspects the most difficult part of her job will be convincing the patriarch his daughter tired of his overbearing nature and left town. That's what the Charleston Police Department believes.

But behind the garden walls South of Broad, family secrets pop up like weeds in the azaleas. The neighbors recollect violent arguments between Kent and her parents. Eccentric twin uncles and a gaggle of cousins covet the family fortune. And the lingering spirit of a Civil-War-era debutante may know something if Colleen, Liz's dead best friend, can get her to talk.

Liz juggles her case, the partner she's in love with, and the family she adores. But the closer she gets to what has become of Kent, the closer Liz dances to her own grave.

    "The heroine is a favorite,"

The series continues on a pleasant path. In these books, one gets a flavor of the slow and gentle south. However, this translates into a slow-paced plotline.

This is the best yet in the series- I'm just hoping in the next book Colleen gets special dispensation to let Nate know about her.

    "Suspense and romance"

Mystery within a mystery in historic Charleston as Liz works through her own relationship issues. My favorite it the series but also a good standalone read.

    "Best Lowcountry Book yet!!"

This is Susan Boyer's best Lowcountry book yet!! She crafts a mighty fine mystery with elements that appeal to me...the Lowcountry of SC as a backdrop, a bit of the paranormal and sexy characters. In Lowcountry Boneyard, Liz & Nate attempt to solve the disappearance of a young SOB (that's South of Broad in Charleston lingo) socialite whose family has deep pockets and a fervent desire to keep their secrets from being revealed. As usual, Liz & Nate's lives are threatened at every turn. Fans of the Liz Talbot books will be glad to know the Liz/Nate story line takes a nice turn at the end. If you love the Lowcountry of SC, this book will make you pine to catch the next ferry to Stella Maris!

    "Good mystery, Southern Charm"

Very enjoyable mystery with a touch of romance - no graphic violence or sex. Lots of southern atmosphere and a realistic relationship between P.I partners Liz and Nate.

The fact that Liz sees the ghost of her childhood friend creates some humorous moments without stretching the bounds of incredulity.

    "Good Book"

Susan Boyer has done it again. This new addition of the series was a bit sad but still very entertaining. The plot was complex and so were the characters. I look forward to reading the next book.

    "Great Series!!"
What did you love best about Lowcountry Boneyard?

I absolutely love Susan Boyer's writing and her Liz Talbot series is AMAZING! If you have not read them yet they definitely need to be on your must list.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

From start to finish each book leaves you wanting more. I cannot think of one single instance where I found myself thinking that the story was moving slowly. Susan Boyer's writing is superb!

    Any additional comments?

One of the great things about the Liz Talbot series is that you don't necessarily have to read/listen to the first book to know what is going on. Susan Boyer has done a great job incorporating tidbits of detail from previous books to bring the reader/listener up to speed.
