Chloe Benson wakes up kidnapped and bound in an underground tomb with no memory of how she got there.
She manages to escape but no one believes her story - not the police, not the doctors, and especially not her husband, Liam.
When she suspects Liam is lying to her, Chloe is forced to retrace her past, following in her own footsteps to find the truth and stay alive.
But who is following Chloe?

Chloe Benson wakes up in a dark dank room with her hands tied behind her back and no memory of how she got there.
So begins our story. The next 38 chapters take us through Chloe's journey to discover her lost memories. All the while her creepy controlling husband who seems so loving and attentive to outsiders does his best to undermine her faith in herself.
Is she going mad, or could he have something to do with the whole thing.
A real page turner. I recommend it.
"Pick this one."
If you love to read mysteries/ psychological thrillers but you often have a problem enjoying them wholly as your fun is taken away before the second chapter has ended because you already know 'who's done it' - you might like this book. I had "figured it out" plenty of times throughout listening to this book, but only to find myself doubting my thinking over and over again. I enjoyed the narration. Listening to this story in an accent that is different from my own added to the intrigue, I think. I really enjoyed this book!
Loved this. kept me wondering. I thought i knew where it was heading and then i found i was mistaken.
don't know that i could name one without revealing too much
loved it all
A little predictable yet still suspenseful, a little cliché yet still interesting, a little too drawn out yet still compelling.
"Keeps your attention"
Pretty decent story. Not a masterpiece but a good little thriller that keeps you guessing and holds your attention.
"The most Predictible and cliched book I've read."
An original thought
Stephen king or Jodi Piccoult possibly.
A better book.
This book was so bad that I actually wanted the whiny main character to die. Then at least I could have said it had an enexpected ending.
I almost never write negative reviews because I admire anyone who can write, but this book was so bad that it was a complete waste of my money and time.
Story keeps you on the edge of your seat and keeps you guessing. However, its more a story about how the love in a relationship can become twisted and corrupt.
"not bad, keeps you on your toes"
Another worthwhile credit, held my interest throughout the story, just took me a bit to really get into it. There were so few characters in the story it started to get predictable, but there were enough twists to bypass that aspect. Nothing to write home about but a very decent and gripping read.
"A suspense mystery"
Who is out to get her and why? Why won't anyone believe her? After a miscarriage and what She thinks is a kid napping she find that she has no memory of anything in the last few months. While her husband works to convince everyone she's mad clohe and her friend Jordan start to piece things together.
listened to this book on a long trip through south Africa and Namibia...even had my husband enthralled and discussions as to who dunnit!
"A decent suspense thriller"
The introduction to this story draws you as the main character wakes up buried alive.
As the story plays out you start seeing different scenarios as to what could have happened, was she kidnaped did her husband try and kill her or is this all in her head.
I liked the narration however she is not my favorite or even in the top ten.
II'm a huge fan of suspense so i liked this but there are so many other books I like better. There are also other books that are getting critical acclaim that I think are not as good as Look Behind You.
Not to give anything away but I did feel like the twist in this story was a bit predictable.
"Let down by the narrator"
If I had read some previous reviews before purchasing, I would have been prepared for the dreadful narration of this story. The constant rise towards the end of sentences became so distracting that I almost gave up after the first chapter. However, I persevered and must have become more tollerant although I do think a grittier narrator is required for this story. The plot was ok with several twists and turns but I found parts very repetative and weak. Overall, an ok thriller read by an irritating narrator.
"Reasonable story but irritating narration"
Overall I enjoyed this story. However, I had figured it out right from the opening so none of the twists had any effect for me. It's a shame really because I felt the author came on too strong in one area and so the twists never changed my mind. Having said that, I did enjoy the story and it wasn't ruined by knowing the secret.
Unfortunately, I found the narration monotonous and irritating. She's good with accents and voices in short dialogue, but for any lengthy dialogue or prose her voice repeats the same intonation for each sentence. I almost didn't continue listening at the beginning because it was so irritating and distracting. A real shame.
"Just average & a little plodding "
I wish that the main character did a little less thinking & that there was more actually going on. The narrator's voice really grated.
"didnt like narrator speaks to slow."
story was very predicitable not much too it. narrator was awful not ny cup of tea
"Spoiled by the narration"
The story was enough to make me cringe through the narration but only just....
From the start the rising tone of every sentence drove me crazy ! It was a relief when other characters were introduced just to get a different tone. I almost gave up but the story was interesting enough to make me persist to the end.
It was the best book I have heard in long time. Brilliant story and excellent reading. Thoroughly recommend this book.
"Gripping psychological tale"
Exciting and realistic story. I wouldn't listen again because knowing the outcome would spoil it.
Chloe 'acted' her part very well and you were made to feel a great deal of sympathy for her but the listener was never sure whether she was deluded or not until the last chapter.
Great sympathy for Chloe - near to tears.
Hope she has some more great books like this one.
Really good story beautifuly read. would highly recommend this book .kept you guessing to end
"Story ok, narration not."
The story line is not too bad but there were no surprises with who dun it. Struggled to listen right through as really did not enjoy the breathy voice of the narrator which I assumed was used to enhance the main characters weak nature.
"Look behind you Sibel Hodge"
Loved the story, but found the narrator's voice didn't suit ,it was too gentle for a thriller.
