Publisher's Summary

Everyone thinks Emma Dockery is crazy. Obsessed with finding the link between hundreds of unsolved cases, Emma has taken leave from her job as an FBI researcher. Now all she has are the newspaper clippings that wallpaper her bedroom, and her nightly recurring nightmares of an all-consuming fire.

Not even Emma's ex-boyfriend, field agent Harrison 'Books' Bookman, will believe her that hundreds of kidnappings, rapes, and murders are all connected. That is, until Emma finds a piece of evidence he can't afford to ignore. More murders are reported by the day - and they're all inexplicable. No motives, no murder weapons, no suspects. Could one person really be responsible for these unthinkable crimes?

What made the experience of listening to Invisible the most enjoyable?

You feel for the main character from the off, shes likeable but your unsure about her reasoning and your hoping shes right

What other book might you compare Invisible to, and why?

i found this book similar to the rosary girls another book that i really enjoyed. The sick mind of the killer is beyond comprehension.

What does January LaVoy and Kevin Collins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

the narrators did a good job on this book

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes i read this book in 2 sittings

    Any additional comments?

would recommend this book, i stopped reading patterson for a while because they seemed to get a bit samey (i know samey not a real word but i like it) this book takes you back to early patterson books

What did you like most about Invisible?

Loved following a complex plot rooting for Emma to be right. Just the correct amount of complexity to keep you interested.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Emma, supported by Books. Although she was exasperating at times, she was totally dedicated to her cause.

Have you listened to any of January LaVoy and Kevin Collins ’s other performances? How does this one compare?

    No

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The end where it all started to unravel and come apart for Emma.

    Any additional comments?

One of those books that keeps you listening because you want to know if it is going to work out right.

If you could sum up Invisible in three words, what would they be?

Patterson does it again. Engaging characters, twists and turns along the way. A bit of cheesiness thrown in for good measure.

What about January LaVoy and Kevin Collins ’s performance did you like?

January LaVoy is simple the best narrator I've heard.

Where does Invisible rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Not the best, but definitely worth a listen/read.

What does January LaVoy and Kevin Collins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Overall the voice acting was very good, but wasn't too keen on January doing the mens voices.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes and it was the moment near the end where you relised how far the killer would go to fulfil there plan.

    "Entertaining"

This was an easy listen, but certainly not the best James Patterson I've ever read/listened to. I had guessed the final few twists, so I imagine others will too. The only jarring note in all of this was the female narrators dreadful male voices. She just can't do them at all with the result the male characters sounded unbelievable and irritating verging on stupid, which was a great shame as otherwise her narration was very good! Worth a listen if you can tolerate that part.
