Casey knows the truth. But it won't set her free.
Casey Cox's DNA is all over the crime scene. There's no use talking to police; they have failed her abysmally before. She has to flee before she's arrested...or worse.
The truth doesn't matter anymore. But what is the truth? That's the question haunting Dylan Roberts, the war-weary veteran hired to find Casey. PTSD has marked him damaged goods, but bringing Casey back can redeem him. Though the crime scene seems to tell the whole story, details of the murder aren't adding up. Casey Cox doesn't fit the profile of a killer. But are Dylan's skewed perceptions keeping him from being objective? If she isn't guilty, why did she run?
Unraveling her past and the evidence that condemns her will take more time than he has, but as Dylan's damaged soul intersects with hers, he is faced with two choices: the girl who occupies his every thought is a psychopathic killer...or a selfless hero. And the truth could be the most deadly weapon yet.

The narration was a big sugary and there was a bit too much preaching in the story. The story held my attention and was interesting. A bit predictable in places. Definitely needs a male and a female narrator.
It starts off a little dry and leaves you questioning how good this will be! Stick with it! Incredible story!
This book had me on the edge of my seat constantly. I really hope that there is a sequel. The way it ended left the door wide open for one. I really want to know more about all the characters. The only thing I can ask for is that the reader give each character their own voice. The way she read it, it was hard to tell which character was talking. It made it really hard to follow with there being no voice differences. Other than that I thought the book was very suspenseful and original. I enjoyed it throughly.
I've read a lot of terry blackstock books, most I really enjoyed.
This is one of them. Ready for the sequel!!
I loved this book. this is my second read. I wanted a refresher in the book before I read the next one in the series. I'm excited to started "if I'm found".
This book is great! A must have! It hooks you in from the beginning and keeps you wanting more until the last words. I can't wait to hear what the author has coming next!
"wish it had a real ending "
I did love how it delivered God into the story. it reminded me that when I think I am alone..I'm not. thank you!
"Story line grips you from the first paragraph "
Terri Blackstock has become my favorite author. Her use of vivid words and delving into the characters, make the fictional work seem real. She writes with Character and Conviction. Do yourself a favor and collect her works.
Terri Blackstock is one of my favorite writers. She captures my interest from the very beginning of the book until the very end.
I have listened twice now. Tight story line. Keeps my interest with all the twists and turns.
I like all of the Blackstock books. However, the Newpointe series with the fire chief killing the wives of firemen kept us on the edge of our seats. It was also written well with compelling characters.
Aunt Aggie. She makes an excellent contrast to the points being made in the story.
Casey. I can identify with her struggles and her thoughts of giving up or forging ahead. She always chooses for God and trying to do the right thing. She realizes how hopeless her life is and knows that she only has God to trust.
I enjoyed the story and can't wait to read the next one! Terri is fast becoming one of my favorite authors.
