Publisher's Summary

Winner of the 2016 Audie Mystery Award

Now a major BBC drama as part of the Cormoran Strike series.

When a mysterious package is delivered to Robin Ellacott, she is horrified to discover that it contains a woman's severed leg.

Her boss, private detective Cormoran Strike, is less surprised but no less alarmed. There are four people from his past whom he thinks could be responsible - and Strike knows that any one of them is capable of sustained and unspeakable brutality.

With the police focusing on the one suspect Strike is increasingly sure is not the perpetrator, he and Robin take matters into their own hands and delve into the dark and twisted worlds of the other three men. But as more horrendous acts occur, time is running out for the two of them....

A fiendishly clever mystery with unexpected twists around every corner, Career of Evil is also a gripping story of a man and a woman at a crossroads in their personal and professional lives. You will not be able to switch this audiobook off.

Read It!!!

I wish I could thank JK in person, for such a wonderful piece of writing, or listening in my case, I could not recommend this series highly enough.

I hope that this is not the last in the series (fingers crossed )

Perhaps the most disturbing Galbraith yet

This is a deeply troubling story about justice missed, miscarried or generally ignored...and the people who live who the consequences. What I loved about this book is that Robin achieves greater centrality, and we really get to see her develop as a detective. I literally can’t wait for the next Galbraith novel, because I think Robin and Strike are into a new phase as partners and it’s going to be even more interesting. Another stunning read by Robert Glenister — don’t hesitate to listen!!

This Series Just Gets Better!

This is the third book of the series (I have read four of the books in this series to date) & it’s a great read! JK Rowling (under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith) has created fabulous characters, good plots & interesting twists & turns in this wonderful detective story which has a delightful under undertow of the blossoming love story between the protagonist (Strike) & the deuteragonist (Robin). I can’t wait for the fifth edition where I hope they finally fall into each other’s arms! 😊

Love love love this series!

Love the plots, and the narration, I’m in love with Strike myself just because of the narrators chosen voice for his character...and I can’t wait to see how all the relationships between the characters evolve in the next book!

A gripping story!

Another spiralling JK story but not quite as good as the previous two books. A lot of misdirection too but a strong plot overall.
