    "Nothing like the movie"

I thought Brad and Cate would end up together just like in the movie!! I didn't think you could run through an entire life story in around an hour but what a wordsmith Fitzgerald is. Maybe I'll let him have a crack at my biography next.

    "LOL Funny"

I must OBJURGATE with anyone who does not find this hilarious. As is typical of the time of the writing we never hear from the woman who had the baby or old man. The attempts of the father to raise his old man son like a kid is just funny. B.J. does a great job with great timing in his reading. Get this one just for the fun of it.

This story is actually kind of dumb and not as charming as it thinks it is. Luckily it's short.

    F. Scott Fitzgerald clearly knows how to hit hard in a story, and as he shows in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, he can also pull you along with simply a good story.

What did you love best about The Curious Case of Benjamin Button?

I loved the story all the way through.

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed the comedy of the story. Benjamin Button was born with a great amount of wit.

What about B. J. Harrison’s performance did you like?

The narrator was great. I will look for more from him.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I didn't want to stop listening to it. Finished it in one sitting and then straight on to the Great Gatsby.

    Any additional comments?

The only negative thing I can say about the story is that I am upset that I hadn't experienced it sooner. Now I have to buy the actual book and watch the movie.

    "A Good Listen"
    Any additional comments?

Once you move past the absurdity of the concept and the preconceived ideas that you might have from watching the movie, this was solid story. It was funny and intriguing, while being short enough to listen to from start to finish without dedicating a whole afternoon or evening to it. Also, BJ Harrison's narration is spot on. This is definitely worth a listen.

    Story
"Interesting reflection on the phases of our lives"

B.J. Harrison's reading of this unusual story was excellent. He really reflects emotion and humor very well! F. Scott Fitzgerald's story was most unusual and very funny at times, poignant at others. This makes you glad that this phenomenon doesn't really happen! It also really makes you think about how differently we act at different ages. I haven't seen the movie so I don't know how close it is. This is a nice short book, odd though it may be, and Fitzgerald's lovely writing makes this worth a listen. (Gatsby is a must, though! Jake Gyllenhaal's performance is brilliant, here on Audible!)

    "But why?"

This was an entertainingly weird story. It was very much like one of those fabulous old Twilight Zone TV show episodes.

The difference, though, is that the Twilight Zone episodes always seemed to have a point. I couldn't see the point of this story.

Still, it was interesting and entertaining.

    Story
"How do I love thee...oh so much!"

This is an amazing book. It wasn't only a delight to listen to it, but it was also quite thought provoking. Imagine being in Benjamine's shoes--oh the horror of going about your life in reverse order. At some points, it's definitely a win, but in others, it's a definite loss...particularly in the beginning and the end, not unlike real life but in this situation, your loved ones suffer a bit more it seems.

B.J. Harrison did a marvelous job narrating this story. He was quite charming and delightful.

    "The film was better"

This is only a short story, and completely ridiculous. How the poor mother gave birth to this walking talking reasoning old man of some five feet is never explained.

This is one of those rare occasions where the film was much much better.

    Story
    "Rubbish!!!"
If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

    No idea. . .

Would you ever listen to anything by F. Scott Fitzgerald again?

I have read other Scott Fitzgerald. Quite enjoyed Great Gatsby but mostly I find his stories boring.

What about B. J. Harrison’s performance did you like?

He read it well enough. Just that the whole story was silly and pointless.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Curious Case of Benjamin Button?

I wouldn't have wanted to publish it.

    Any additional comments?

To begin with - how could it be possible for the woman to give birth to (or carry in her womb) a normally sized adult 70 year old man? This is never addressed and the rest of the story is just silly. He is (somehow) born as a 70 year old (how and why?) and then gets younger until he becomes a small child, then a baby . . . then what? Presumably a foetus, then an embryo, lying there in the bed??? No logic here. And if it's meant to be funny in some way, I certainly didn't get it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the film and expected the book to be as good or better. It wasn't ... Nowhere near as engaging as the film. But taken on its own, it's very good although only an hour in length...
