Story
Hundreds of feet beneath the ocean's surface, a graveyard waits. Years ago, the SS Arcadia vanished without a trace during a routine voyage. Though a strange, garbled emergency message was broadcast, neither the ship nor any of its crew could be found. Sixty years later, its wreck has finally been discovered more than three hundred miles from its intended course: a silent graveyard deep beneath the ocean's surface, eagerly waiting for the first sign of life.

By the middle of the morning London’s streets are already under several feet of water – and the level is still rising. What follows is a catastrophe on an unimaginable scale.

Story
Something lurks in the darkness of the trees. A group of friends goes on a hike in search of an ancient spring deep inside the forest. Mythical stories come from the woods—tales of gnomes, fairies, and other not so benevolent creatures. Everything changes for the group when they run into a hiker that mysteriously vanished in the area weeks ago. She is malnourished, dehydrated, and hurt, but she keeps raving about the danger in the woods, repeating one incoherent word over and over in a foreign language.

Lacking suspense and it dragged
no suspense - we know immediately what the monster is. Very difficult to connect or care about characters. The prose was awkward at times (e.g. "no expression showed on its expressionless face")
Pacing was slow. I wanted to enjoy it but just couldn't. Epilogue should have been the prologue.
