Has the "settle-for-less" financial plan become your plan for wealth? That plan sounds a little something like this:
"Graduate from college, get a good job, save 10% of your paycheck, buy a used car, cancel the movie channels, quit drinking expensive Starbucks mocha lattes, save and penny-pinch your life away, trust your life-savings to the stock market, and one day, when you are oh, say, 65 years old, you can retire rich."
Since you were old enough to hold a job, you've been hoodwinked to believe that wealth can be created by blindly trusting in the uncontrollable and unpredictable markets: the housing market, the stock market, and the job market. I call this soul-sucking, dream-stealing dogma "The Slowlane" - an impotent financial gamble that dubiously promises wealth in a wheelchair.
Accept the Slowlane as your financial roadmap and your financial future will blow carelessly asunder on a sailboat of hope: hope you can get a job and keep it, hope the stock market doesn't tank, hope the economy rebounds, hope, hope, and hope. Do you really want hope to be the centerpiece of your family's financial plan?
Drive the Slowlane road and you will find your life deteriorate into a miserable exhibition about what you cannot do, versus what you can. For those who don't want a lifetime subscription to "settle-for-less", there is an alternative; an expressway to extraordinary wealth capable of burning a trail to financial independence faster than any road out there. And shockingly, this road has nothing to do with jobs, 401(k), mutual funds, or a lifestyle of mediocrity.
Demand more. Change lanes and find your explosive wealth accelerator. Hit the Fastlane, crack the code to wealth, and find out how to live rich for a lifetime.

MJ DeMarco has done an excellent jobs in defining what needs to be done to be a success. There is no secret formula. The advice provided in the book is pretty darn logical, practical and very useful. He calls spade a spade. Loved it. Definitely worth a read
I've only listened to this audio book, so it's number one!
Everything that is talked about is highly useful information; perfect for those looking to buck the trend and pursue their own dreams.
No. Multiple car trips to and from work.
easy to listen and very well presented ideas with great explanations and details. It's had a significant positive impact of how i viewed starting and running a business. Thanks MJ
Everything was great very practical. The good thing about this book was that It inspired me enough to take action on some opportunities i did not notice until reading this book and understanding the fastlane principle.
Yes, this book completely debunks the old and tired "get a good job" and "invest your way to wealth" mind-sets. This book makes some great points and reveals some serious truths about wealth. I wish I had listened to this audiobook years ago!
Great energy and emotion in the story-telling
This is truly an audio-book that you have to listen to if you're serious about building your wealth and being young and healthy enough to actually enjoy it.
One of the very few books I've found unlistenable on Audible. Positive reviews for this title are baffling to the point of being suspicious. I couldn't even make it to the halfway mark.
What it is: a testosterone-laden adolescent worldview with very little actionable advice.
If someone like this dude can become a millionaire in record time, you can too. You're welcome!
Narrated by the man himself, TMF is an excellent and standout book. I write a review for hotels/flights/books/movies whatever maybe once every 5 years. This time The Millionaire Fastlane gets my tick ;) Well done to MJ Demarco (ps he is not a genius.. we are just stupid for not seeing this ourselves! )
I almost did not purchase this book because of the title, but I'm so glad I did! This could very easily be the best book I've read in years. I currently earn an above average income (low 6 figures). Even though I can afford a good living, I feel like saving through my 401k is not getting me anywhere fast. As a former financial advisor, I believe the author's ideas are sound and he confirms why I felt like a fraud every time I pitched stocks and mutual funds. While it has been done, it is extremely difficult to make big gains in the stock market. It's mainly a really slow game that takes more than a couple decades to work. This book presents a mental state rather than a step by step plan. The author gives many examples of fast track success stories and most importantly, he doesn't sell any of the content as "get rich easy". Oh, and there's no up selling attempts within this book!
"Best I have read in a long time"
I own a business that's pretty successful but not fast lane yet like I want because I need to work on scale but MJ is dead on with his 5 commandments of fast lane business and his 3 types of people. Also he isn't a guru trying to lure you into buying more his stuff. He is truth.
MJ because he is real and I know from experiences that what he is saying is true.
I can identify with him.
The Truth the Gurus Don't Want You to Know
I hope to meet MJ some day. He has inspired me to jump back into my business and rev the engine for the fast lane.
"Good insights, over the top condescension"
MJ undoubtedly has pretty good thoughts and guidance when it comes to money and has fresh insights and stories from his life. The content of the book itself was helpful and actionable.
The listening experience was spoilt for me by his constant condescension, made up of thinly veiled insults and rhetoric. I know this is his persona for the book and how he stands out, but I didn't care for that too much.
I felt that the chapter break music was very jarring as well.
"Nothing extremely useful."
Although there are some semi helpful motivational tidbits scattered through out this book, the book itself is not full of a lot of useful information. Each chapter is like an motivational introduction to the same book on finding wealth. Lots of recycled content over and over. Summary: make positive changes, create a business, get rich.
"Cracking the code = Not going to find it here."
Practical advice, next steps, solid tools for listener to use.
No. I'll not buy another book from this author though.
Self-consumed, pompous, immature
Very little. Frankly can't think of anything he has shared that was helpful except for my thinking I should learn how to code and build my own websites.
DeMarco breaks down his basic theory on sucess breaking success into two groups, slow lane success and fast lane success. I'm in chapter 15 and so frustrated listening to the same damning example after example after example of slow lane success techniques. Each example of how other people are stupid comes dripping with an all knowing attitude while avoiding any tangible steps for you to make going forward. Granted I'm only in Chapter 15 so haven't listened to the bitter end but all I've suffered through could have been easily summarized in one chapter.Have you ever been trapped with someone who can't stop talking about themselves and how smart they are and sharing their opinions on how the world works? DeMarco may know how to make money for himself but his book is desperately short on valuable insight as to how you might be able to do it. I can sum up what I've heard so far in a couple sentences. All I keep hearing is how awesome he is, what a great life he has and how if I'm smart I'll want to be like him.Saving money, investing in mutual funds or stocks or anything like that is stupid "slow lane" thinking. You need to come up with an idea to make money like I did with my internet company and make money in the fast lane! - Now you'll be waiting to hear details or formulas helping you do the same but they won't be there. You'll just keep hearing those same two lines over and over. I'm 9 hours and 12 minutes into a 12 hour book and so far that's all I've gotten out of it. So much of it is telling you that life is short. I feel like I've wasted 9 hours of it listening to this book. I'm giving up.
"Tell it like it is"
Leverage Value Customer-obsessed
I would compare this to Rich Dad Poor Dad, but without the gloom and doom that Kiyosaki spouts.
Brutal honesty, humor and cutting through the fat.
Great advice book on the criteria to look for a business that will scale and reach the most audience. MJ smashes down the whole "do what you love, follow your passion" mantra out there. It's more about providing value to others with passion and hard work.
"90% lecturing, 10% how to"
90% lecturing, 10% how to get to fast lane. Too much chastising people for being idiots.
"A Top 5 business book of all time."
This book changed my mental/financial life 3+ plus years ago, and has acted as my filter by which all other business books, advice givers, podcast, etc are judged.
MJ's transparency comes thorough even more strongly in audio, and proves he wrote this book for one primary reason, and one only, to help people succeed and not get distracted by business and success myths along the way.
Translates how I feel into words. Amazing work by MJ. I just hope he doesn't stop with this one!
"Don't read this book!"
Don't read this book if you are comfortable where you are in your life. If you don't like change and you like midicrosy stay away from this book, it's not for you.
if you want to change your life to the better.
if you don't like your income, nor your job.
then this book is for you.
expect to be uncomfortable

ether way, you choose you live it
loved the book. I keep going back to highlights I maked-( reminders)

"Great book and message from a guy who has succeede"
This is a book I would highly recommend as the author has been there and done that. Save yourself loads of time and get the shortcut to wealth.
"A MUST READ BOOK!"
After reading this book I re-evaluated my fastlane, although already on the fastlane it became clear that my vehicle wasn't the right one, as it would get me to where I want to be BUT not where I know I can now get, I was selling myself short and accepting my ceiling.
"Fantastic advice but you have to follow through."
Just do it! Ideas without action are nothing.
An excellent book with lots of good advice and stories. Some times the points seem slightly laboured but they get the point across well.
This book has to be the most honest of all the books I have read on business and finance. MJ is goes in to detail about all the scammers out there who just try to take your money.
"Aimed at extreme wealth creation, not bad"
Some good insight and tips. It's aimed too much at creating ridiculous wealth in short order. Most people don't have the mechanism to do this or have too much to lose. I prefer a slower and steady approach to wealth.
"Read this, just read it, I loved it"
I really loved this book, I'm going to read it again. So insightful, challenging, current & just what I needed. I nearly overlooked this book cause of the title, thankfully I took a leap of faith. This is how it is, no nonsense, honest and blunt.
"love it - very relevant to now unlike most books"
the book was long, but super informative, it relates well with this era. love it.
This is a great book that makes a lot of sense. By far the best get rich book I've read.
"Incredible. Now I'm buzzing!!!"
This really gives you a proven route to follow. With plenty of context to make it all make sense.
MJ DeMarco, my new hero.
"Great Content but can be Overwhelming"
This book contains a lot of content which can be Overwhelming to some. Nevertheless the content is excellent even though it's a little repetitive. Just like a journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step - simply be consistent and read a little of this book everyday. After all it contains everything you will need on your wealth journey.
