Seldom has such a small handful of words provided a teaching as rich as this famous opening line of Shunryu Suzuki's classic. In a single stroke, the simple sentence cuts through the pervasive tendency students have of getting so close to Zen as to completely miss what it's all about. An instant teaching in the first minutes. And that's just the beginning.

Bring the teachings into your life
I am so pleased that I chanced across this book. I didn't know about Larry Rosenberg previously, but immediately fell in love with his teaching style. It combines a deep and lived experience of Buddhist wisdom with a terrific Brooklyn Jewish sense of humour. It is a very practical and encouraging book, and is beautifully narrated by Edoardo Ballerini. Definitely one to listen to again and again.
