With a career spanning more than five decades, few actors are more qualified to recount the glamorous Hollywood era of the late 1940s and early 1950s than Robert Wagner. You Must Remember This is Wagner’s ode to a bygone age, to its incomparable style and how it was displayed, and to its legendary stars.
Wagner revisits the houses, restaurants, and other haunts of Hollywood’s elite, offering an intimate view of their lives on and off screen. He fondly recounts mythic figures simply entertaining at home among friends, away from the publicity machine and public eye that morphed into today’s paparazzi culture. Wagner also discusses the business of Hollywood and its evolution from an industry once dominated by moguls to one run by agents, and examines the career arcs of his peers, carefully considering why some survived and others faded.
Engaging and entertaining, You Must Remember This is a window into the splendors of an erstwhile era and an opportunity for listeners to live vicariously through one its most beloved leading men.

"For the true LA/Hollywood affectionado!"
This story was perfect for us. As former Hollywood and LA residents this filled in many historical gaps. It was not your typical Hollywood memoir, but instead an insightful look back to the golden ages. Highly recommended!
"The way a story about Hollywood years past, should"
Not what I expected. No it was much better. Robert Wagner makes you feel like you are there with him and his friends. I highly recommend this magnificent work for anyone who loves Hollywood and the movies.
I was waiting with bated breath to begin this book. Unfortunately, it was very little more than an architectural reminiscence of Hollywood/LA.
Wind in some personal anecdotes to spice the story up - very little substance in this book.
RJ would have a wonderful story to tell if he chooses to.
This is an old Hollywood history lesson told by a humble and interesting man. I thought things might get tacky and scandalous, but Wagner tells it all with class and grace. I gained a lot of respect for the man by how he handled his subject matter, and I learned a lot about Old Hollywood. I only wish the book were about three times longer. I'll be listening to this one again.
"If you like stories about the old guard in Hollywood..."
Robert Wagner has interesting stories about the Hollywood of old and he tells them with great love and admiration. This book is a great read for young and old. I enjoyed it very much. I'm only sorry the illustrations didn't come as part of the book.
"Old Hollywood stories"
I enjoyed Robert Wagner's narration because it made me feel like I was in the room with him as he told me these old stories. Wish he would have talked more about his own movies instead of Hollywood in general.
Like I said, Wish there had been more about Robert Wagner and his life and friends.
I enjoyed the story about him being a caddy for the movie stars.
It was enjoyable, but probably not something I'd listen to again. Might call it a piece of fluff history lesson.
"Good listening I enjoyed it as it was old Hollywood when everything was glamorous"
Good listening. I enjoyed it because it was old Hollywood when everything was glamorous. I recommend it.
Interesting stories of a city and business long gone. Interesting enough, but mostly about places and people I was only vaguely familiar with.
"Interesting But not what I thought"
This is a book about the history of Hollywood buildings and people.
I thought it would be about Robert Wagner exclusively. But having said that it was all the more interesting. Well read and very entertaining I thought.
"Incredible age of glamour"
A curates egg,good in parts
Hollywood itself was the star
Going on a bit to far at the end
The second half
The stories of how Hollywood came to exist were fascinating but the latter part of the book was boring to say the least, all those restaurants most of which I'd never heard of.Wagner was never a major star & the constant name dropping didn't convince me that he had been.
