Unmasked documents the unlikely true story of a boy who was taunted and beaten relentlessly by bullies throughout his childhood. Kane only escaped his tormentors when he moved to a tiny island in the South Pacific where he lived for all of his teen years. After living shirtless in a jungle for a while, he headed back to America where he fell in love with doing stunts - only to have his love burn him, literally. For the first time ever, Kane tells the true story of the horrific burn injury that nearly killed him at the start of his career. The entire heart-wrenching, inspirational story of his recovery, the emotional and physical damage it caused, his fight to break back into the industry that almost killed him, and his triumphant rise to become a film legend are told in Kane's own powerful voice. Take a peek inside the head of the man behind the mask. Be inspired by his triumphant comeback, and laugh at his on-set hijinks as you unmask the world's most prolific cinematic killer.

"Loving Kane and Horror Movies"
I recommend this book Kane Hodder lovers it is awesome I have listened to it 3 times
This book was a wonderful listen. I loved hearing Kane read it and I learned more about him than I ever thought I could. This is definitely worth a listen.
read the book and I won this copy
so exited to hear kane tell his own story just awesomeness
"Don't think, just buy!"
Best book ever! Everything I wanted to know about Kane and I'm so jealous of everything he's accomplished!
"Jason is all i can say."
An excellent book and look into the life of one of the most memorable onscreen killers. This read had me laughing, wincing, and near crying at points. Kane Hodder is an in your face truth kinda guy which is refreshing change from other biographies I've read which tend to be more formal in their telling. I actually felt as though this was a one on one with one of the most talented stuntmen/actors ever to grace Hollywood. So if you are a fan of the latter Friday the 13th movies or Kane himself you owe it to yourself to get this book.
"Not what you would expect"
While this isn't great literature Kane who also narrates this just hits his marks and tells the truth . Knew little about him aside from behind a horror icon and working stunt man . Was surprised to see he is a very dedicated and caring guy towards what he loves but if not then get out of his way .
This goes into very humiliating times in his life and how he is his best ally and worst enemy .
This story is funny and tragic and a great take for blue collars like me who want to still believe hard work pays off .
Thanks Kane !
"Love it "
Loved every minute of this book. Even though some parts made me wanna puke and some made me cry.
this was, by far, one of the best books to cross my path in a very long time. I have been a fan of Kane Hodder since I was a teenager but this book made me fall in love with him all over again and in a completely different way. I don't mean that in any other way but with the upmost respect. his story and journey are such an inspiration. outside of my own father and husband, i cant think of a better example of a real and true man!!! kudos to you Kane! keep kicking ass and taking names later!
"Hodder should be a verb!"
To Hodder means to never stop fighting. As a massive fan of Kane, this Audible is smashing. I read this before but to listen to the Man himself giving us his story is incredibly moving. Michael Aloisi has
given us fans a real treat and my thanks to him and Kane Hodder for letting us in.
"Loved that Kane hodder read to me :)"
Was a heart wrenching story lots of ups and downs for Mr Hodder . The only thing that buged me was jumpring around in his time frame of storys he was telling it be talking about his adult hood then kid then back to adult. But over all the book was great give me a new view and love for Kane Hodder . I wanted to know more was sad when it was over . Can not wait to get to a convention to meet him one day
Loved it so much and would definitely recommend. You can hear the passion for what he does come through as he tells his tale.
great book, read excellently by Kane himself, the movie trivia is awesome and the story of his burn accident is genuinely horrific. he reads all the nasty stuff with a weird mix of gravitas and glee. a horror legend :)
"amazing book. im gonna have to listen to it again."
amazing book. im gonna have to listen to it again. kane hodder is one of the nicest men ive ever met
"Fascinating look at the life (so far!) of Kane"
It was a nice balance of family history, stories, details and anecdotes that never dragged.
The horrific yet fascinating detail of Kane's accident was grueling to listen to, I can't even imagine what it was like to go through for real! Yet it never felt as if it were shocking for shock's sake. It was very well put across.
It's always great to hear an author read his own story, and despite some fleeting moments where it felt like he was reading (which of course, he was), most of the time it felt like Kane was just talking to you. I like that.
Having Adam Green read his own introduction was a nice touch. All in all it was a great look at Kane's life and profession, I'd listen to him again for sure.
