Love him or loathe him, ‘Iron' Mike Tyson is an icon and one of the most fascinating sporting figures of our time.
In this no-holds-barred autobiography, Tyson lays bare his demons and tells his story: from poverty to stardom to hell and back again.
In his first autobiography, ‘Iron' Mike Tyson pulls no punches and lays bare the story of his remarkable life and career.
Co-written with Larry Sloman, author of Antony Keidis's best-selling memoir Scar Tissue, this is a visceral, and unpause-able story of a man born and raised to brutality, who reached the heights of stardom before falling to crime, substance abuse and infamy.
Full of all the controversy and complexity that you would expect from a man who delighted as much as he shocked, this is a book that will surprise people and reveal a fascinating character beneath the exterior of violence.
If you think you know all about Mike Tyson, read this book and think again.

"Tyson fan before and more after reading the book"
I've always been a Tyson fan since I was a kid. He will always be one of the most exciting boxers to watch in my mind. I got to know more about him after reading the book and wish him all the best. Hope he finds peace and happiness--that I believe is just as cool as finding success in the limelight. Cheers!! 👊😉
"An extremely open account of a rollercoaster life!"
I have never read the printed version so I cannot really comment, but the narration on this audio edition is excellent.
I honestly couldn't specify one particular part of the book, the whole story is gripping. From Tyson's childhood memories, training, fights and his battle with women, drugs & alcohol. A fantastic listen!
As I said above, it's difficult to identify specific parts, however, the accounts of his relationship with Cus D'Amato and how he built Tyson both physically and, probably even more so mentally, into the fighter who became the youngest heavyweight champion of the world was brilliant listen.
Both! Tyson really has lead an eventful life and this book gives a "warts & all" account of it. He tells the stories of his off the wall life episodes and gives honest explanations of his mental state throughout. It has amusing and extremely moving parts.
Brilliant narration and an excellent listen!
"15 hours to long"
Opening chapters everything you want detailing the rise of Mike Tyson unfortunately the latter chapters descend into a crude unstructured ramblings. Part of me wants to feel sorry for him but in reality not a nice person. What could have been is the lasting thought.
"Controversial as expected. Inspiring and scary"
Great athlete . Amazing story but it was very long so for me it got a deserved 4 stars. Tyson is one of my favourite athletes ever .
the great narrator simply compounded what is a powerful and educational story of an icon beyond the tabloids and beyond the harshly painted assumption. in some ways this book is inspiring, but most of all its gripping. couldn't put it down.
best book of read in years, thought provoking eye opening, and transparent hard to put down definitely a thumbs up from me.
all the ingredients. I'm sure some aspects are exaggerated but thanks for keeping me entertained for last few weeks champ
Fascinating rise up to be world champion, but he's an absolute moron and scumbag. So full of himself and deluded too. Should have stopped the book at the end of his boxing career as the last 20 years are just hours of drug induced boring stories.
A great story into Mike Tyson and his Jekyll and Hyde persona. Recommend to both boxing and non boxing fans.
"Surprisingly profound and at times moving"
A fascinating insight into the life of an often demonised individual. It takes the reader on a immersive journey through his life. From his troubled childhood, to his rise to fame and his subsequent downfall.
At times funny, offensive, moving and even profound.
Recommended not just for fans of boxing (rarely does the book get into technical boxing details), but for all those interested to understand the real man behind the world's most terrifying and (in my vire) greatest boxer of all time.
One of the most interesting and honest stories I have read. There is so much interesting parts of his life it felt like a movie. highly recommended.
