Perfect for their fans, heavily seasoned with warmth, food, love, bikes and bro-mance, the Hairies never fail to entertain.

"better if dave stopped pretending to be posh"
yes I would, I find Simon is honest and trustworthy, Dave would be better if he was more natural and didn't try talking 'posh'
most of what Simon says, I don't do spoilers, but I got a lot of what he says
at first I wasn't very impressed with this one, basically Dave was trying to much to talk posh instead of just talking as Simon does. in fact I gave up after the first few chapters. I then tried again and I'm glad I did. the story gives a lot of insight into where they both come from, I enjoy watching them on the telly but always had my doubts, (I know that doesn't make sense) but now I see them both from a different perspective. Dave has had his heartaches, again I don't do spoilers, but a lesser man would give up. As for Simon King... who I sometimes saw as an attention seeking clown..(how very wrong I was, and I apologise for that) but he is actually a very decent genuine bloke, who's main drive is his family and friends, this is a no holds barred look at a bloke who just worked and worked and luckily gets his chance, and quite rightly, though it all comes at a price.. this is a very enjoyable moving look at a couple of northern blokes.. good luck to you both
A well written and moving account with narration by The Hairy Bikers themselves. Thoroughly entertaining, I just couldn't stop listening!!
"The best audiobook I've ever read"
Wow, what an inspiring, hilarious, emotional and uplifting book this is. I tend to listen in the car and had to pull over twice. Firstly because I shed a tear (and I'm not the sort of bloke to do this) due to heartfelt way Si and Dave read their stories. But also due to bellyaching laughter at some of the encounters they've had. They come across as two totally genuine people who love what they do and don't take it for granted. I wish them every success and am off to listen to it all over again!
This is one of the best books I have listened to and getting Dave and Si to read there chapters of the book
I can't say a bad thing about this book
A very moving and touching life they have both lived
"Hilarious, heart breaking and totally humbling"
It has been a very long time since I laughed and cried so much at a book. Coming from humble beginnings it just shows if you work hard enough you can do anything. Ive long been fans of the hairy bikers and now I've got to know them a bit more I absolutely love them. Couldn't recommend this book more, be prepared to laugh out loud but get those tissues ready.
"Fantastic deff one to buy"
Loved this audiobook enjoyed every minute so enlightening it's well written and gives a great insight into their lives
an absolute joy warm and funny a pleasure from start to finish
"Fab double act"
From surprisingly humble beginnings for both Si and Dave they have by sheer hard work and quite a lot of persistence become two of the greatest personalities working in television today. The double act theme continues in the audio book with Si and Dave reading alternate passages with their infectious humour and enthusiasm. The book is told from both of their perspectives and is full of fun, ludicrous situations that couldn't be broadcast and a few poignant times as well. Success was almost inevitable with the amount of hard work and sacrifice that they have dedicated to their mission to bring their shared love of bikes and cooking to a wider audience. Well done.
Surprising, funny, enlightening
We loved the entire book. We listened in the car on a long journey and the time just whizzed by. We were very sad at some of the revelations in the detailed early stories. It moved along well with the both narrating.
We laughed and we were sad.
The early part of their lives was quite detailed and unfolded between the two narrators. However, the more recent part of their lives seemed to be rushed and avoiding the same in depth detail of the early chapters.
Perhaps that is for the second volume in a few years time.
We ended the book really opening our hearts to the guys. Well done.
this is now the best autobiography I've listened to. what a great account of two really interesting lives,a beautiful friendship and two lovely guys. loved the fact that dave and si took turns to read each chapter and both of them do great impressions of each other to add to the storytelling. I always liked the hairy bikers but now have a whole new respect for them as a team and individuals. fantastic audio book!
