A witty, warm, and inspiring memoir from E News! host, Fashion Police panelist, red-carpet correspondent, author, and reality show star Giuliana Rancic.
Giuliana Rancic is best known for interviewing A-listers on the red carpet and E! News, skewering their shocking style choices on Fashion Police, and giving viewers a front-row seat to her marriage and family life on her reality show, Giuliana & Bill. What fans may not know is that she learned English from Eddie Murphy, got her American citizenship so she could be a beauty queen, and used to have a bad habit of stealing cars for fun.
Giuliana bares this and so much more in her hilarious, warm, and inspiring memoir, Going off Script. From a young age she dreamed of being a TV anchorwoman, but because of her inclination toward mischief and away from schoolwork, her path to her dream job was far from straight. After a fateful (and mortifying) encounter with the late Senator Ted Kennedy, she learned that Hollywood news was where she belonged. Thankfully for listeners, this epiphany led her to a bounty of LA misadventures (featuring notables such as Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Russell Crowe) and an entertaining behind-the-scenes perspective on what our favorite celebrities are really like.
In spite of her glamorous Hollywood life, however, Giuliana could not escape some rockier times, including her battles with infertility and breast cancer. Here, for the first time, she reveals the whole truth behind her well-publicized struggles and the highly controversial decisions she had to make. And, of course, at the heart of it all are the two loves of her life who keep her strong through everything: her husband, Bill, and her son, Duke.
Candid, funny, and poignant, Going off Script is an autobiography that proves you don't always have to follow the rules to get the life you've always dreamed of.

I've watched Giuliana for years so was really interested on hearing her talk about her childhood, cancer and infertility issues. While her telling of the story was great - there just wasn't much substance to it. Her memoir made her appear shallow, vain and at some points I felt like it was a session of major brown nosing to other celebrities. I was disappointed but don't regret listening to it.
Probably, G was real. She is one fouled mouth lady, but I love it. If you do not like swearing this is not the book for you. I was hoping she'd have more Hollywood dirt, but the over all story was good.
No sure, maybe Jennie Garth's autobiography.
She was very newsreporter for this book. Loved her "just go with it" attitude of the book, but a little more emotion or depth would have been nice to hear. I felt she just read through it.
Yes, I love G and Bill and have followed them throughout the years. I would for sure recommend this book to another fan, but if you are not a fan than you probably wont enjoy the book.
I just love how "real" she is. She is CRAZY, but I love that about her. Not afraid to show her true self!
"who would've known?"
I was glad the author narrated the book.
I was surprised by her feisty personality -and
teenage antics. In the age of reality TV and "too much info" , I gained a new respect for her by listening to her tell her story without commercials.
"A must read if you love Giuliana Rancic"
I loved reading her story it was funny, touching and overall great if you are a fan of Giuliana don't hesitate to listen!
"A Compelling & In-depth Look at Giuliana Rancic"
I enjoyed this book, especially hearing it from Giuliana herself. It is honest, funny and heartfelt. Who knew she was such a hellion as a kid? It makes me like her that much more.
"telling it like it is"
Having Giuliana narrate her story makes it real. Being a TV personality, her voice makes the story real to her. An easy listen.
There were some chuckles as well as teary moments.
An easy listen.
"A must read!"
I love Giuliana! I feel like I can relate to her stories! Listening to this book was like listening to a friend!!
"Poor Little Princess"
Maybe.....if you are into a fluff Hollywood story.
Have not read anything else.
While I appreciate her agony and fear of a cancer diagnosis.....she is certainly not the first woman to have survived it. And with her wealth and connections, being able to arrange a conference call of experts to help her make a decision leaves me cold and hopefully she is aware that many cannot do that and must make a difficult decision alone or with family. I hope she is aware of how fortunate she is. And the endless "fear of flying" got obnoxious, especially when she was able to fly her and her new baby home on a private jet. Really G....get over yourself!
Yes, but with some reservations. She occasionally comes across as a pompous Hollywood princess. Many don't have the ability to weigh all the options you have. And when you and Bill needed to "sell your mansion" in Illinois as it had too many rooms....OMG.
Please don't inflict any of your paranoia onto your sweet son.
"Hilarious sometimes. Open and Raw at all times."
Giuliana Rancic gives herself to these pages by allowing herself to be open, real and true. She doesn't shy away from the tough topics, or hide from stories that do not always portray her in the perfect light sought by most in Hollywood. She allows herself to sometimes sound vain, sometimes shallow, and in doing so she allows the reader to like her more and respect her more. She becomes the friend whom you want to drink with on a Friday and lunch with on a Monday. She becomes the friend whom you want to hold and soothe after her horrific battles with infertility and cancer. She is likable, smart and funny. This is a first-rate memoir. I am so glad that she read it herself as I do not believe anyone else would have been believable reading her story.
"Great story, wonderfully narrated!"
Her story of coming up as an immigrate, moving through Hollywood, and overcoming cancer was inspiring!! Loved it, may listen again in the future!
"Guilliana...not just a pretty face with a potty mouth"
To be honest, I've only watched Giulliana & Bill, Fashion Police, etc. a handful of times. So I didn't start this book as a Giulliana groupie. I like listening to celeb bios read by the celebrity and thought this book would be amusing. I was not disappointed. For such a young woman, Giulliana has an amazing history beginning with her early years in Italy thru her crazy dating adventures, attempts to thwart academia's requirements, hunt for the perfect job, marrying Bill twice (sort of), struggles with infertility, battling cancer, losing her dear friend and mentor Joan Rivers, etc. Oh! And did I mention that she is an unapologetic potty mouth? This book kept me thoroughly entertained and I would highly recommend it.
"you will enjoy if you have followed Giuliana"
Quite the wild child really and determined to succeed...I enjoyed the book as I have followed Giuliana (and Bill) for a while now
"Really interesting and poignant"
So usually when you watch the celebrity gossip programs, you are forgiven for thinking that the presenters are as shallow as the program's content! However, this was an interesting insight into her life and very sad health issues.
fun reading it will make you laugh and cry and be posiive about life.....!!!! She is amazing and she is narrator big big plus!!!!
everything.....from her childhood to her success @ E News
i watch fashion police and red carpet.....and her reality show....
a lot i must say.....
its just one of those amazing books.......nice voice as well
