Publisher's Summary
Much as it disappoints me, a Sherbet poster is my earliest memory of pop music fandom. It was given to me in exchange for two chocolate biscuits, and I can tell you who got the better of that deal. They were very nice chocolate biscuits.
So begins Anthony Griffis' fateful love affair with pop music, but by the 1980s he's fed up with hairspray rock and the likes of Adam Ant and Duran Duran. Growing up in a country town where trucking songs rule the airways, he's forced to bide his time with the solitary - and at times socially embarrassing - pursuit of air guitar. Until he finds himself in a real band, who never quite make it but whose misguided tilt at rock 'n' roll glory is utterly hilarious.
