By the next Thursday, Topsy’s dead.
The last thing Liz, Thelma and Pat imagined was that they would become involved in a murder.
But they know there’s more to Topsy’s death than meets the eye—and it’s down to them to prove it....

A cosy and enjoyable listen
Great story, fabulous narration (and accent), Very relatable listen as a teacher. Loved the side plots for each character alongside the main mystery. This book kept me great company on my long drives to and from work. Now I've got the second one lined up!

Not quite there for me
While I found this book interesting, narration good, it became hard to follow from time to time and found I had to rewind to fit the pieces together.

Enjoyable spoonful
I enjoyed this gentle tale of murder with many moments that created smiles and even laughter. It was a bit like the down to earth, sensible and thoughtful ladies from my aquarobics group were solving a murder.
And I also liked the more serious side of drawing attention to the situation older people find themselves in with scammers using technology and more traditional methods to trick them out of their money.
Also loved the Yorkshire accent of the reader and the setting.

Go easy with the accent next time
The narrator's accent was very thick and hard to understand from time to time. The plot was a bit dull: just a bunch of gossiping old ladies.

Was an enjoyable story
Thanks for this book. It was enjoyable and easy listening. I did get to the who did it early on, and some of the sideline storyline’s were a tad tedious - but on the whole I enjoyed this book. Would listen to another book by this author.

For lovers of Yorkshire and strong women
I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy a story about dementia and the trials of getting older but this was a pleasant surprise, great story with strong women and well developed characters, I really liked that it was set in Yorkshire and Julie hesmondhalgh narration was excellent, she brought each character to life, I can’t wait for the next book

A spoonful of intrigue!
Great writing, beautiful narration, believable characters and a plot that kept me wanting to listen for longer. Reminded me so much of growing up in Yorkshire and made me laugh as I’m a retired primary school teacher/ special education manager in Australia!
