Mackenzie Grey is a lone wolf who's earned her fair share of battle scars from the past, but that's all over now. Or so she thought. She's lost her job, her relationship with Sebastian is teetering on the edge, and she's hiding from a particular warlock that's ready to call in his favor. When Bobby Wu catches up with Kenzie, it's not what she expects. He said he would own her, and he meant it quite literally. Bound to the warlock, it's a race against the clock to untie herself from Bobby before she does something she'll live to regret. Mackenzie Grey is back at the Supernatural Investigative Unit and her first big case is not what she expects. She's tasked to find stolen relics that are attached to a legend even Kenz herself is having a hard time believing. This leads to a target getting put on her back, and she finds help from an unexpected enemy. Unfortunately, the SIU isn't all Kenz has to worry about. When Alexander finds out about Ollie, he takes the first flight to New York City to spend time with his daughter, but he comes with news of his own that will change Mackenzie's world completely.

Mackenzie Grey is tying up loose ends before she says goodbye to the life she knows. In doing so, that means closing up all her cases that are left open at the Supernatural Investigative Unit, and nothing prepares her for the blood thirsty vampires roaming the streets of New York City. It is time to rein them in and bring order back to the city. Except Kenz is just as blood thirsty as they are.
