Characterization spoiled it for me
By the author of ‘Started Early, Took My Dog’ (a great book) - this story had a convoluted plot with deaths (too many), murder, arson and even a train crash. Quite a clever plot & although the narration was excellent, (Stephen Crossley) the characterizations were AWFUL (especially the Scottish ones), and they spoiled the book for me. A Jackson Brodie story.

Bloody brilliant!
Humour, tragedy and the thickest plot! The characters are believable and the story telling superb.

Wonderful narration; typically brilliant Atkinson.
I just love Kate Atkinson's stylish, accomplished writing. Full of sublte humour and brilliantly observed characters. If you like your crime fiction quirky and sans clichè, try this Jackson Brodie series.
