Charity Farrugia is too sensible to believe she'll find love in a paddock. After all, at thirty-four, she's the one with the secure career and the mortgage. The one who took on the job of raising her two sisters when Mom got sick. Everyone knows she's the practical one. The responsible one. Yeah, the boring one. But it would be neither safe nor prudent to let Faith and Hope spend a weekend in the country without her, would it?

But the next morning, when I check my phone, there is a message. From a friend. And a string of photos appear of my husband, Will, with another woman: walking along the street holding hands. Going into fancy hotels. Standing at a window, his arms around her, her head on his shoulder…

Privacy is hard to maintain in Badara, the kind of small Australian country town where everyone knows everyone else's business. Paige's only respite from child care and loneliness is the Tuesday gym club, where she had feared the judgement of the town matriarchs, but she is met only with generosity and a plethora of baked goods. Beckett: If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart.

Great story!
- By rejnh on 25-10-2021
Publisher's Summary
Winona, the oldest, knew early on that she could never get it. An overweight dreamer and reader, she didn't exhibit the kinds of talents and strengths her father valued.
Vivi Anne, the youngest, had those things. And it was Vivi Anne who only ever saw a glimmer of their father's approval.
When Vivi Anne makes a fateful decision to follow her heart, rather than take the route of a dutiful daughter, events are set in motion that will test the love and loyalties of the Grey sisters.
With breathtaking pace and penetrating insight, Kristin Hannah's True Colors is a novel about sisters, vengeance, rivalry, betrayal - and ultimately, what it truly means to be a family.

Touching story
Wow what a touching story. I loved how the three sisters had a special bond and were always there there for each other. At times it was tough but life is often tough so it was very realistic. I loved the end. Sandra Burr is a truly gifted narrator and I love listening to her.

Painful narration
I love Kristin Hannah, I’m enjoying the story itself but the narration is PAINFUL…nerve grating painful. Grown women with whiny, toddler like voices makes it incongruous with who they are in the book. I’m expecting tantrums at every turn. It’s like the baby voice people use to baby talk to cute animals. I can’t handle it!

Disappointing
I was so disappointed with this book. The narration was terrible and made the plot seem even more trite. I'm very sorry I bought this book.
