Story
Why do we fight most with those we love best? Australian relationship therapist Lissy Abrahams has spent years exploring this question, both in her treatment room helping clients and through extensive research. She knows that long-term conflict leaves us drained, anxious and worried for the emotional wellbeing of our families, but says it is neither intractable or inevitable. Conflict is caused by unconscious patterns of thinking and behaviour - unresolved feelings of fear, instability or pain - that can be consciously rewired for a healthier, happier relationship.

From the authors of The Great Sex Rescue comes this evidence-based book grounded on surveys of over 28,000 women to offer moms a fresh, freeing, and biblically grounded message of sexuality and self-worth for their daughters that is less about the don'ts and more about the dos.

What happens when your story doesn't end the way you thought it would? When the dream life you have been working towards becomes something you must walk away from? When you swap a Hollywood marriage and a LA mansion with waterside views, for a little attic flat shared only with your daughter, beneath the star-filled sky of deepest North London? When you find yourself not lonely, but elated—elated to be alone with yourself, who you genuinely thought you might never get to see again?

Publisher's Summary
Good people can be bad partners.
One night during his divorce, after one too many vodkas and a phone-in-therapist's advice to 'journal his feelings', Matthew Fray started a blog. On it, he tried to piece together how his ex-wife went from the college freshman who adored him to the angry woman who thought he was an asshole. It turns out that even though he was a decent guy, he was kind of a shitty husband.
As he shared raw, uncomfortable and darkly humorous stories about the lessons he'd learned from his failed marriage, Matthew started to gain a following. Then he wrote a post titled 'She Divorced Me Because I Left the Dishes by the Sink'—it went viral and was read over four million times.
This Is How Your Marriage Ends offers immediately actionable advice to help listeners identify toxic behaviour patterns in their own lives and break them out of the cycles of dysfunction that ruin relationships. Good people can be bad partners—this book is how you change that.

Every couple should read this!!
So relevant in this day and age. Breaks down the communication barriers and considers how important empathy for a successful relationship. Understanding these concepts would have saved my own marriage - that I have recently ended for the VERY reasons discussed here. Have recommended it to all my women folk - insisting their husbands read....before it's too late......

Excellent book to help your marriage before it’s too late
Some very helpful insights. Made me realise the small seemingly innocuous things I do every day are slowly poisoning my relationships. A fantastic read.
