Better than last IAD book
Still lacking the signature sass from the first books. I really missed the bonkers states from Nyx and hope comes back. I would hate for this series to be retired before Nyx gets her own book.

spooky steamy funny and brilliant
Oh what a marvellous story. I'm so happy Kresley has written again and Robert has narrated.
There's a touch of a remake ensconced is this clever tale and the setting was simply brilliant, it was spooky and steamy and angsty and just ...gah! So much fun and suprises with awesome dialogue
As each character was mentioned all past novels came back and memories of characters and their stories fell into place. Just loved it.
I am addicted to Kresley's writing and her IAD series. This was no disappointment. A wonderful notch in the immortals niche.
Rok never had a chance...just love the IAD heroines.
Thankyou to Robert for a marvellous listen.

Kresley Cole brings a 'scary' good time
‘If he had to be trapped with anyone, he’d choose Poppy. What a fitting name. Pretty flower. Ruinous drug.’
THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN !!
Rök & Poppy had such great banter & had me so invested. Loved their playful back & forth & their love of horror movies. As a huge horror movie fan, I loved all the talk of these movies & cameos of both classic or modern monsters.
I loved the forced proximity setting of the haunted castle, it was such a creepy atmosphere adding to the tension & even has jump scares. There were many moments that made you feel you were in a horror movie. Though I wished this was longer, the setting was perfect for this novella.
Rök is such a cinnamon roll of a demon, loved his flirty nature. Poppy is a new character to the series & loved her. Even though she is concerned about her magic, she is still a fun confident witch who will stand her ground against Rök & fight for what she wants.
This is a fun spooky romantic read perfect for halloween or anytime. Has cameos from other IAD characters & another fantastic addition to the series. Even though have just re-read this series in preparation, it made me want to go right back to the beginning & start again. Love being in this world & this is definitely now one of my favourites in the series.
So happy to have Robert Petkoff back as the narrator. Soon as you hear his voice your immediately transported back into the IAD world & know you're in for a fun ride.
