Publisher's Summary
Australia has been invaded.
While the outnumbered Australian Defence Force fights on the ground, in the air, and at sea, this quickly becomes a war involving ordinary people.
Ben, an IT consultant, has never fought a day in his life. Will he survive? Grant, a security guard at Sydney's International Airport, finds himself captured and living in the filth and squalor of one of the concentration camps dotted around Australia. Knowing death awaits him if he stays, he plans a daring escape.
This is a dark day in Australia's history. This is terror, loneliness, starvation, and adrenaline all mixed together in a sour cocktail. This is the day Australia fell.

bloody awesome
bloody loved it, scarily realistic scenario.
only thing I didn't like, as an ex RAN sailor I would have loved some content on the navy battles, and I think in reality whilst eventually sucumbing to the Indonesian superior numbers, the Aussie Navy would have inflicted much greater damage and lasted longer than the story depicts

Tedious
Story line was promising but overall, failed.
Characters not developed, went on way too long (even though it was the invasion of Australia!) and everything seemed flat. Female characters were dreadful - and were both second fiddle players, mostly developed for not very well constructed love stories. The narrater was pretty awful too which made it even harder going. Why did I listen to it - almost to the end - because I was hoping for more from JB.
