so informative. I have been on this path for a while so wasn't sure if I would learn much from it but I did. I recommend it to everyone.

Misinformation

Terrible information on diet. Conflicting information, terribly Bias and clearly so. I wonder about conflicts of interest. The book is very manipulative in its nature.

Disappointed

I had heard rave reviews but basically the solution to heal yourself is to water fast. Not helpful for long term freedom from the pleasure trap. Excellent ideas but no practical advice on how to live day to day and it clearly states that to achieve freedom is almost impossible like giving up drugs. Only a small few can actually achieve it. Not helpful.

90% fluff & filler

While I appreciate & agree with the ideas and philosophy in the book, it’s extremely scant on how-to’s, and way way too full of historical anecdotes and side-tracked stories. For example the authors go on & on about Elvis, starting even from before his birth talking about his parents’ early beginnings, right through to his death - all just to make point about overindulgence. If I wanted a an Elvis biography, I would have bought that instead! Similar with the evolution of technology and how it’s contributed to our current collective state of health… I assume most readers would be acutely aware of this & it’s probably a reason they purchased the book, so it felt extremely redundant.
The few small pieces of practical advice offered are pretty sound, I just really expected a lot more of them to justify the cost of the book!!
