Starts well...

This book starts so well. Interesting characters, great setting, real struggles. And then at about the 2/3 mark, it gets ridiculously melodramatic. There is a lot of rain and running around and it reminded me of the end of Lola in the Mirror, and I don't mean that in a good way. And then it all wrapped up oh so cleverly.
Additionally, I listened to the audio-book and the narrator was (mainly) great. Herr accents were lovely, her voice was beautiful. Then only problem is she made a lot of unrelated noises with her mouth, and by the end they made me want to scream.
So this book was a bit of a bumpy ride for me.
