Story
When Evie McKnight slams into Jamie Mackenzie on a quay on Southampton, she flashes back to the day she accidentally knocked him into the river Cam. When she fished him out, he shocked her with a searing, bold kiss before walking away in a wet shirt and kilt. Evie has no business reveling in memories of Jamie then and the nearness of him now - she is betrothed to a respectable man from a respectable and wealthy family. But Jamie appears everywhere in London, assisting Evie and her sisters, becoming friends with her fiancé, and agreeing to be drawn into the heist Evie has planned.

Story
War hero Alistair Carsington really really loves women, and his romantic impulses have landed him in nearly as much danger as the Battle of Waterloo. To avoid his usual temptations and perhaps even repay the friend who saved his life, he's exiled himself to a place far from civilization - Derbyshire - in winter! Fate laughs at his good intentions and drives him straight into conflict with Miss Mirabel Oldridge, his match in tenacity, intelligence, and deviousness - who also happens to be wildly irresistible.

Story
Annabel was about to take the veil to become a nun, when her mother suddenly arrived at the abbey to take her home...so that she can marry the Scottish laird who is betrothed to her runaway sister! She knows nothing about being a wife, nothing about how to run a household, and definitely nothing about the marriage bed. From the moment Ross MacKay sets eyes on Annabel, he is taken with his shy, sweet bride...and the fact that she's blessed with lush curves only makes him utter his own prayers of thanks. But when an enemy endangers her life, he'll move the Highlands themselves to save her.

Shunned by a society that puts attractiveness above all else, Lady Eliza Darby’s wallflower status keeps her from getting the one thing she wants most, namely, to be a mother. But, when her scorned older sister returns home to see all of her sisters wed in happy matches, it may be Eliza’s only chance to secure a husband and have the children she so desires. Jilted in a publicly humiliating display, Dax Kane, the Duke of Ashbourne, has sworn off love forever. Publisher's Summary
A woman is drawn to a dangerously intriguing man in this unique historical romance from New York Times best-selling author Jennifer Ashley.
It was whispered all through London Society that Ian Mackenzie was mad, that he’d spent his youth in an asylum, and was not to be trusted - especially with a lady. For the reputation of any woman caught in his presence was instantly ruined.
Yet Beth found herself inexorably drawn to the Scottish lord, whose hint of a brogue wrapped around her like silk and whose touch could draw her into a world of ecstasy. Despite his decadence and his intimidating intelligence, she could see that he needed help. Her help. Because suddenly the only thing that made sense to her was...The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie.

Sweet, sexy and considerate
Neurodivergent people have existed throughout human history, not just in the last 50 years. So it's always refreshing to see it represented in historical romances. It seems to me to be an honest and compassionate portrayal of someone struggling with possibly what we would now identify as ASD, and to see how simple it was to be labelled "mad".
A beautiful romance was created between him and a woman who just took people as they were, and led with compassion. I loved it.

Beautiful Story of Intrigue and Romance
The characters were so well drawn. Beth and Ian - their story grows and they have a wonderful relationship that builds over time. The MacKenzie family are a significant part of the story - all compelling characters with a dark history. Will continue with the series. Really enjoyed this book.
