Publisher's Summary
Few people had a more profound effect on Christianity in the 20th century than G. K. Chesterton. The Everlasting Man, written in response to an anti-Christian history of humans penned by H.G. Wells, is considered Chesterton’s masterpiece. In it, he explains Christ’s place in history, asserting that the Christian myth carries more weight than other mythologies for one simple reason—it is the truth.

Twice through great read
Great book made me want to listen to all his other books. So I'm going to do just that. Even for its age, I this is so insightful and almost sounds like it was written for things today

Tells it like it is
A truly fascinating account of humanity and our place in the universe, and particularly of the centrality of the Christian story and Christ as God-Man.

Brilliant
CS Lewis wrote somewhere that reading books from generations past frees you from the trappings of the current worldview. Strangely GK Chesterton n the Everlasting Man could be written for today. I love the fresh perspective and wonder on life Chesterton gives. The narrator John Franklyn-Robbins reads as I imagine Chesterton would speak.

How Christianity might appear from the outside
A really engrossing examination of the Christian faith in its historical context. I was particularly interested in the idea that it was a reversion to monotheism rather than the invention of monotheism. I would have preferred a younger narrator
