Publisher's Summary

Siege of Terra Book 8, Part 3

It all comes down to this final confrontation – the Emperor versus the Warmaster. The father versus the son. After 63 novels and a slew of short stories, omnibuses, audio dramas, and more – this is the End and the Death.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

The Horus Heresy series reaches its dramatic climax. After years of civil war, the Emperor and Horus clash aboard the Vengeful Spirit in an epic battle of blades, wits, and wills. See how the greatest conflict of the age plays out, and follow fan-favourite characters from across the saga as they desperately try to influence the outcome.

THE STORY

The Great Angel, Sanguinius, lies slain at his brother's hand. Terra burns as reality itself unravels, and the greatest bastion of civilisation teeters on the brink of annihilation.

Desperate defenders gather, banding against the rabid traitor hordes. The Hollow Mountain, host to the pilgrims of Euphrati Keeler, is one of the last redoubts held by the Dark Angels while the unclean host of Typhus lays siege. Malcador the Sigillite sits ablaze on the Golden Throne, trying to buy his master more time. But time is running out...

Guilliman races across the stars to reinforce the Throneworld. Will he return to ashes, where a Warmaster of Chaos has ascended to godhood, or will the Emperor have triumphed? And at what cost?

A fitting end.

The end is finally here. This series has perhaps gone on a little too long… Regardless, Dan Anbnett writes a compelling story about the beginning of the 40K universe. Johnathan Keeble is always a joy to listen to.

Crazy

Easily the best book I've listened to for a very very long time. VA was great as always and the fight was wild, swear it went for close to 3 hours haha. Good ending to a great story

Epic… Wow!

A listen I would often hit the rewind button to listen to chapters over again it was that good! To be at the very end of the series after so long the journey was well worth it, epic book and to hear the history of warhammer being fleshed out so well… full credit to the author & the narrator .. so many times I felt like I was in the middle of the emperor vs Horus battle it was so worth the wait!

what a conclusion!

in my opinion it is certainly the best of the 3 volumes. i feared it would drag on as happened in the earlier volumes but with few exceptions it did not. Instead you are kept in the action through the perspectives that you most want to hear from. A sizeable chunk of the book does indeed focus on the Emperor and Horus! The Almighty battle does not disappoint. it is epic and is superbly written in a way that is so varied and interesting that it does not drag despite being longer than many short audiobooks. It is heartfelt and connects to the earliest points of this series. if you have read what has come before you are going to listen to this anyway but you are going to have a damn good time doing so.

An incredibly well done ending to an amazing and tragic series

I’ve read every Horus Heresy story from the start. What a journey it has been. Dan Abnett really did justice to it all. Thank you to all the authors of the Horus Heresy series for the decade of heartbreak, inspiration and entertainment ❤️

Almost perfect.

I love everything about how this was done and I am eager to listen to the siege again now that I know where things are going the whole way. To watch how the strings tie together to make everything make sense in the end.

The only thing that made me unhappy was that it was over too soon. I felt like the ending was very abrupt and could have explained much more about what happened after.

I almost hope that a new series will continue with the rebuilding or something there’s so much still to cover after the events of the final battle.

Extremely Satisfying

The vocal performance deserves an award, as does the book itself. It delivered on everything set up previously. Masterful
