Story
Kay Donovan has skeletons in her closet, but who doesn't? The past is the past, and now Kay's a star soccer player whose group of gorgeous, pedigreed friends run their private school with effortless popularity and acerbic wit. But when a girl's body is found in the lake, Kay's carefully constructed life begins to topple. The dead girl has left a memento, a computer-coded scavenger hunt, which, as it unravels, begins to implicate each of Kay's friends, until Kay herself is in the crosshairs of the murder investigation.

Story
Ellingham Academy is a famous private school in Vermont for the brightest thinkers, inventors, and artists. It was founded by Albert Ellingham, an early 20th century tycoon, who wanted to make a wonderful place full of riddles, twisting pathways, and gardens. "A place," he said, "where learning is a game." Shortly after the school opened, his wife and daughter were kidnapped. The only real clue was a mocking riddle listing methods of murder, signed with the frightening pseudonym "Truly, Devious".

Story
Everyone knows the Ivies: the most coveted universities in the United States. Far more important are the Ivies. The Ivies at Claflin Academy, that is. Five girls with the same mission: to get into the Ivy League by any means necessary. I would know. I'm one of them. We disrupt class ranks, club leaderships, and academic competitions...among other things. We improve our own odds by decreasing the fortunes of others. Because hyper-elite competitive college admissions is serious business. And in some cases, it's deadly.

Disappointing
I’ve read a number of books by the author and this was the least believable/engaging of them by far. It was a struggle to finish. The other books were in contrast, excellent, which made this all the more disappointing, I’m afraid.

Couldn't Stop Listening!
Other may argue with me but I think this one is the best of all Karen McManus' book's yet! I literally couldn't stop listening to it and the twists and turns kept shocking me throughout the book. Usually I have a good idea of how a story is going to play out but this one really keeps you on your toes.
Loved all the characters and didn't want to say goodbye.

Slow read
I persevered with this book hoping that the story would develop, to no avail. The story really lacked a plot and the characters really didn’t develop at all. Thought it may have improved but even the ending was unremarkable. Couldn’t wait for it to finish.
