Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

Story
In this stunning audiobook, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers" - the best and the brightest, the most famous, and the most successful. He asks the question: What makes high-achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: That is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing.

Where are the female outliers?

Publisher's Summary
Today we find ourselves in possession of stupendous know-how, which we willingly place in the hands of the most highly skilled people. But avoidable failures are common, and the reason is simple: the volume and complexity of our knowledge has exceeded our ability to consistently deliver it - correctly, safely or efficiently.
In this groundbreaking audiobook, Atul Gawande makes a compelling argument for the checklist, which he believes to be the most promising method available in surmounting failure. Whether you're following a recipe, investing millions of dollars in a company or building a skyscraper, the checklist is an essential tool in virtually every area of our lives, and Gawande explains how breaking down complex, high pressure tasks into small steps can radically improve everything from airline safety to heart surgery survival rates.
Fascinating and enlightening, The Checklist Manifesto shows how the simplest of ideas could transform how we operate in almost any field.

Fantastic, glad I listened
Great stories, to frame the theme. Sometimes author’s stories are just filler, but Atul’s stories have a clear purpose, create a link to the chapter/book and are compelling to non-medical people like me.
Makes a clear case. I’m off to think about how I can use the many layers of observation, wisdom and proof in this audiobook.

I really enjoyed this book!
An extremely valuable book, one i will read over and over again. Perfect for implementing into business of any kind. I really liked how the author discussed multiple situations and businesses where checklists are so valuable. I’ve already implemented his checklist strategy into my business because of this book, I would highly recommend!
It’s amazing the detail of the surgery the author describes but at moments it made me shiver so if you have a light stomach, be prepared.

Exciting read although a bit long-winded at times
The book had an amazing start which made me hooked instantly. Towards the middle the story became a bit wordy and irrelevant so it was hard to continue, but towards the end the story became interesting again and ended well I think.
