Story
Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Story
Hugh van Cuylenburg was a primary school teacher volunteering in northern India when he had a life-changing realisation: despite the underprivileged community the children were from, they were remarkably positive. By contrast, back in Australia Hugh knew that all too many children struggled with depression, social anxieties and mental illness. His own little sister had been ravaged by anorexia nervosa. How was it that young people he knew at home, who had food, shelter, friends and a loving family, struggled with their mental health, while these kids seemed so contented and resilient?

Publisher's Summary
Legendary leadership and elite performance expert Robin Sharma introduced The 5AM Club concept over 20 years ago, based on a revolutionary morning routine that has helped his clients maximise their productivity, activate their best health and bulletproof their serenity in this age of overwhelming complexity.
Now, in this life-changing audiobook, handcrafted by the author over a rigorous four-year period, you will discover the early-rising habit that has helped so many accomplish epic results while upgrading their happiness, helpfulness and feelings of aliveness.
Through an enchanting - and often amusing - story about two struggling strangers who meet an eccentric tycoon who becomes their secret mentor, The 5am Club will walk you through:
- How great geniuses, business titans and the world’s wisest people start their mornings to produce astonishing achievements.
- A little-known formula you can use instantly to wake up early feeling inspired, focused and flooded with a fiery drive to get the most out of each day.
- A step-by-step method to protect the quietest hours of daybreak so you have time for exercise, self-renewal and personal growth.
- A neuroscience-based practice proven to help make it easy to rise while most people are sleeping, giving you precious time for yourself to think, express your creativity and begin the day peacefully instead of being rushed.
- ‘Insider only’ tactics to defend your gifts, talents and dreams against digital distraction and trivial diversions so you enjoy fortune, influence and a magnificent impact on the world.

Great content - terrible narration.
The 5am Club is pretty much a CliffsNotes of hundreds of quotes, philosophies, excerpts and advice tied together with an improbably tedious story showcasing weak character development and a tonne of tiresome metaphors and similes. The narrator really should be recast (honestly, he is painful to listen to). If you are a self development junkie there is little original content here HOWEVER for a newbie this is a goldmine of content, tying together lots of topics and it has been put together in a coherent way if you can stomach the voice acting (I’d recommend purchasing the hardcover rather than the audiobook because of the narrator - maybe the written word gives the characters more depth?!). So the content is great, storyline not so much, message is positive and if the narrator doesn’t make you inexplicably annoyed then you’re a more enlightened human than me!

One of the best books I have ever read/listened to ( I have both).
Robin Sharma has a gift for writing that is rare.
Writing entertainingly and sharing a potently important message.
I would go far as to say Robin Sharna is a guru of motivation

good message, too many words
I like the content. I like the method. I like how parts are a compilation of famous inspirational quotes.
However there's too much repeated or redundant dialogue and the intention of having a hard self help strategy made in to a novel dilutes some of the idea translation.
