Superb entertainment.
First class instalment with wonderful narration from Janine Birkett. Her Vera is fabulous and fairly crackles with life.

So much better than tv adaptation!
l loved listening to this story! It was a little confusing at times as I had watched the TV program which varied quite a bit from the original. This was so much better!
The characters were so well developed, the plot had many twists & turns, and the outcome satisfying. Vera's attitude and rueful sense of humour are enjoyable and I enjoy hearing her thought processes, which of course we are not privy to on TV.
LOVED IT!!

Another great story
I love Vera! TV series are good but sitting watching is not always convenient- with an audio book you can get on with your day and enjoy all this performance as well as the story. Very entertaining

Silent voices
I love Ann Cleeves and her books. Vera is terrific such a cranky woman with a lot of problems but solves crimes well.
The narrator Janine Burkett was really good. Changing her voice to fit with all characters.
Very enjoyable indeed.

Tried hard to finish it!
I tried very hard to finish this book, however found the over acting of the narrator for different characters extremely annoying... I gave up trying to finish and purchased another book.
