Revelations - Ancient Origins
Loved it. Their were many memorable moments. I loved all the archaeology. The thought of an advanced civilization on our planet so long ago, gets me thinking. Where did they come from? Where did they go?
Gildart Jackson tells a great story. Looking forward to
book 2.
Enjoy everyone.

Good series until the last book.
My review is based on the series. it is very involved and can drag on in some parts but the story is interesting enough to get you through, you want to know what happens next. I liked how it touched on so many stories and how they linked.
Some characters disappear for a while and it is like the author didn't know what to do with them to tie up their stories.
My biggest issue is the last book. It is one long rant of morals, science, religion and lots of god. Perhaps in lieu of it being the end of the world. But it is so preachy and not a good listen. It is very opinion based and based on lots of conspiracy. It jumps the shark a lot and really made me want to put the book down but I kept listening to find out how it ends.

Disappointing
I wanted to like this book and have listened to it all. Firstly be aware that it's only the first in a series and this book ends without any real storyline ending and obviously the storyline is long, complex and convoluting, so I suspect you'll have to listen to all of them to get anywhere with them, and I'm not going to bother.
The narrator was ok except that he doesn't pause at all at the end of a sentence but continues without a breath into the next one which is a pity.
The storyline consists of 2 completely separate stories, one about the US military preparing for a meteor strike on earth and the other about some archeologists looking for a race of giant humans. The stories are ok but leave loose ends and lots of unexplained solving of clues. The archeologist characters are annoying as the author is trying to show us all that they are great friends as well as colleagues so there's lots of unnecessary and irritating banter, with lots of joking and mucking around and after the first bout it's just annoying. Also the narrator does a poor and whingeing Northern British accent for one of the men which is just horrible. I think it's supposed to be from the Dudley area, but it's awful.
When the meteor strikes it's just another day and very little detail is given about the effects of such a strike, with the rest of the world carrying on as normal, which I think is fairly unlikely.
Overall I tolerated this book. It could have been edited better, and the storyline, whilst interesting, could have been better researched and executed. It hasn't left me desperate to find out what happens next as I'm pretty sure I can guess and have better things to listen to. The characters are obvious and a bit boring. Who really needs yet another heroine who is tall, slim, blond and beautiful? Why is that relevant and frankly who cares? There are places in this book where she strives to hide her beauty so she can walk through an area without everyone looking at her????? Seriously????
