Story
Cole Riker is a Slip Runner. A contractor tasked with finding alien salvage in exchange for credits. For an ex-smuggler like Cole, there’s a catch: Don’t break the terms of parole. That means doing things by the book. Find salvage, turn it in, get paid. But everything changes when a retrieval mission lands him in a previously unknown sector. There, he finds the material he’s been sent to recover, along with something more. A brand-new form of ancient alien life.

Story
When Van Tudor returns to his childhood home, he inherits more than the family farm. His grandfather used to tell him fantastic stories of spacemen and monsters, princesses and galactic knights. Little did Van realize, the old man's tales were more than fiction; they were real. Hidden beneath the old barn, Van’s legacy is waiting: a starship, not of this world. With his combat AI, an android bird named Perry, Van takes his first steps into the wider galaxy. He soon finds that space is far busier and more dangerous than he could have ever conceived.

After a soldier is left for dead, Eva Delgado's life begins to unravel. The truth of what happened remains a mystery, and the government will stop at nothing to keep it buried. Together with the unit's medic, Eva finds herself branded a terrorist and enemy of the state, hunted by two opposing governments. When the pair uncover a plot that could have ramifications for the whole galaxy, they know they have to act, but it will take all of their training, cunning and just a bit of luck to do what no one else has achieved. Die Hard in space. But it’s disjointed
A good story. But far too close to die hard. The epilogue is completely erroneous and leaves the story flailing.

Off World Die Hard
So many parallels with the novel from 1979 that was the inspiration for the first Die Hard movie in 1988, which if you enjoyed, you can think of this story as a 21st century remake!
Fortunately, some innovative twists and additions in this version translates to an entertaining listen.

If you like Die Hard with Bruce Willis you will love this!
Highly recommend
Fast paced, action packed, great storyline (along the lines of Die Hard 1) I will definitely be purchasing more books by this author.
