Publisher's Summary
After a tip from a reporter, Eve Dallas finds the body of a young woman in a Delancey Street dumpster. Just hours before, the news station had mysteriously received a portfolio of professional portraits of the woman. The photos seemed to be nothing out of the ordinary for any pretty young woman starting a modeling career. Except that she wasn't a model. And that these photos were taken after she had been murdered. Now Dallas is on the trail of a killer who's a perfectionist and an artist. He carefully observes and records his victim's every move. And he has a mission: to own every beautiful young woman's innocence, to capture her youth and vitality - in one fateful shot....

Portrait In Death
Best In Death story written in my opinion. Powerful, brutal and emotional. An exceptional read!

Portrait in Death
Brilliant, funny, has reader on edge of the seat in places. Has that familiar twist at the end, just what readers have come to expect from the J. D Robb books.

I basically listen to the story rather narrator.
2023 AUDIBLE REVIEW
I have started buying the audible books and have listened to the audio book version as well.
I’ve gotten more used to the narrator and basically listen to the story rather than her voice. It works most of the time but I have to listen at 1.3 speed or the story and the voices are aggravating.
BOOK REVIEW
Such an emotionally sad and teary story all around.
Roarke is thrown for a terrible loop when a truth from his past is told to him but it also turns out to be a blessing, as he has family he never knew off.
Eve and the gang have to deal with the extremely sad deaths of some young adults, one of whom is the sibling of her friend Crack.
Then Officer Trueheart is taken by the killer and a mad dash ensues to save him.
I am rereading this series once more, updating and replacing missing reviews.
I do find it very annoying that these books have not been proofread correctly for errors before being recovered and rereleased at higher prices.
