Publisher's Summary

The second installment in Kresley Cole’s best-selling steamy Immortals After Dark series is now available on audio for the first time!

Centuries ago, Sebastian Wroth was turned into a vampire - a nightmare in his mind - against his will. Burdened with hatred and alone for ages, he sees little reason to live - until an exquisite, fey creature comes to kill him, inadvertently saving him instead.

When Kaderin the Cold Hearted lost her two beloved sisters to a vampire attack long ago, a benevolent force deadened her sorrow - accidentally extinguishing all of her emotions. Yet whenever she encounters Sebastian, her feelings - particularly lust - emerge multiplied. For the first time, she’s unable to complete a kill.

The prize of the month-long contest is powerful enough to change history, and Kaderin will do anything to win it for her sisters. Wanting only to win her, forever, Sebastian competes as well, taking every opportunity - as they travel to ancient tombs and through catacombs, seeking relics around the world - to use her new feelings to seduce her. But when forced to choose between the vampire she’s falling for and reuniting her family, how can Kaderin live without either?

Favourite Book

This still remains 1 of my favourite books in the series. The by play back and forth between the 2, the turmoil and sadness, the love between them. So good 👍

Not that wicked.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

After 1000 years without feeling anything Kaderin finally loses her cold heartedness when she becomes Sebastian's bride. She awakens his heart & he awakens her feelings. After so long without feelings I wish the sudden return had had more of an effect on her. Theres a small glimpse at the start when she remembers the pain of losing her sisters but not much else. Yes she talks about remembering what it was like to laugh, be happy, turned on & angry but I wish those moments had been more fleshed out to show just how cold hearted she was to how kind hearted she now is. Also wished the character of Sebastian was more fleshed out. In previous books the males have more substance to make you root for them to get the girl, but didn't feel it with Sebastian. He was still a likeable character but could have been more.

If you’ve listened to books by Kresley Cole before, how does this one compare?

Not one of my favourites in the series, but still enjoyable.

Any additional comments?

I have already read the IAD series & am happy now listen to the audio versions. Robert Petkoff's does a great job.
