Story
In Jennifer Craig's enchanting memoir, we meet these warm-hearted yet naïve young girls as they get to grips with strict discipline, long hours and bodily fluids. But we also see the camaraderie that develops in evening study sessions, sneaked trips to the cinema and mischievous escapades with the young trainee doctors. The harsh conditions prove too much for some girls, but the opportunity to help her patients in their time of need is too much of a pull for Jenny.

Story
It’s a freezing winter’s night in 1954. A baby boy, a few hours old, is left by his mother, wrapped in nothing but two sheets of newspaper and hidden amongst the undergrowth by a canal bank. An hour later, a late-shift postman is walking wearily home when he hears a faint cry. He finds the newspaper parcel and discovers the newborn, white-cold and whimpering, inside. After being rushed to hospital and against all odds, the baby survives. He’s baptised by the hospital chaplain as Richard.

Story
Every weekend, in Holland’s most popular newspaper, de Volkskrant, renowned science-journalist Ellen de Visser asks a different medical professional to tell her about ‘that one patient’; the patient who changed everything for them. Every day, in every country, thousands of patients share their stories with their doctors: stories they may never have told anyone else; stories that are heartbreaking, sometimes funny and - just occasionally - unforgettable.
Publisher's Summary
When the Call The Midwife series became bestsellers Jennifer Worth received mountains of letters - not only praising her books, but also from people who remembered the world her books described; life in the east end of London during the late 1940s and early 50s. Often her books touched her readers and they felt moved to write, or they wanted to share their own memories.
A prolific letter writer herself, Jennifer always corresponded and this book includes some fascinating letters she received, including letters about becoming a missionary and the curious list of things she would need! There are also letters from one of the nuns featured in the Call The Midwife books and other such gems.
Letters To the Midwive includes a moving introduction by Jennifer's family about the Jennifer Worth they knew and loved. Read by Patience Tomlinson and Clive Mantle.

Wonderful!!!
I started Jennifer’s books after I watched call the midwife on Netflix. I love them this something that you could listen to or read over and over again. Highly recommended.
