Publisher's Summary
Finn
Getting into the vampire-only detective unit was the easy part. What’s going to be more difficult is dealing with my new partner - an ancient vampire who keeps threatening to eat me. The unit has never had a human in it. Marcus - or, as I like to call him: Fangy McFangface - would really prefer to keep it that way.
He’s grumpy, short-tempered, and broody, but I have a way with words, and I know he’s starting to like me, even if he swears he’s not. But what he doesn’t know is that I didn’t join the unit because I was tired of being a homicide detective. I joined because there is someone after me.
They’ve already taken enough from me, and I’m afraid they’re going to take all of me if I don’t find someone to help. That’s all Marcus was supposed to be, but now, he’s so much more, and I can’t imagine my life without him.
Marcus
The moment the pesky human walked through that door, I knew I had to get rid of him. He’s charming, and almost everyone else instantly loves him, but he doesn’t understand how risky it is being part of this unit as a human.
But as I get to know the stubborn man, I learn that, perhaps, he’s not as naive as I once thought. And, maybe, he’s what I needed to realize there is more to life than just work and my dog.
A group arises that is threatening to disrupt the alliance between the humans and the vampires, but Finn is the one who shows me how strong that alliance can be and reminds me why it’s worth protecting.
When threats hit closer to home, I realize I would do anything for Finn because he’s brought so much joy to my life...and because he’s mine.
Note: This book features a creative use for undergarments, unintentional splits, a wolfhound who just wants to be a part of things, a vertically challenged human who still manages to wrap every vampire he meets around his little finger, the best date ever, possessiveness, really awkward dancing, some workplace revenge, and just a bite or two. Or three.

Great fun!
Bubbly yet competent police detective, Finn, has finally joined the Vampire-Related Crimes Unit, even though they‘ve never allowed humans before. The last thing grumpy and gorgeously broody vampire detective, Marcus, wants to do is babysit a fragile human detective, but when vampires are exposed to a new drug which endangers humans around them, Marcus must put aside his prejudices. As usual, Alice Winters delivers a hugely fun story, chock full of humour and served with a slice of danger. Her trademark zany comedian vs. reluctant straight man set up works perfectly with Finn as the annoying ray of sunshine working with a bunch of grouchy vampires. 🎧 Michael Ferraiuolo shines in these comedic books, even adding a grumpy-vampire-talking-through-a-mouthful-of-teeth accent to his repertoire. Great fun!

A great start to the series
Seeking revenge on the vampire who attacked him years ago, Finn worms his way into the VRC (vampire related crimes) team where he hopes to make friends with vampires strong enough to help him bring his attacker to justice. His problem - he’s human and they don’t like him. Their problem - he’s not giving up until he wears them down with sarcasm, smiles and sass.
Really enjoyed this introduction to the team and looking forward to their next adventure

Well written! Fantastically narrated!
This story had me in its grips from the first few minutes. Well written plot, with twists and turns to keep you on your toes, and plenty of humour to keep you laughing the whole way through. Can’t wait to read more!

great fun
I laughed out loud throughout the narration.
The story is great and made all the better with great narrator.
This author has been very hit and miss for me but I'm glad I gave this story a go. Perfect blend of humour, action and world building, with some great character development.

Annoying Loud mouth Lead
Hate Finn’s character. Talks way too much to be likeable, doesn’t care about others feelings.

the narrator was perfect for this story
How to Vex a Vampire is exactly what I've come to expect from this author after reading some of her previous titles - Fun to read and lots of snarky banter between the main couple.
Marcus is the vampire that does his best to resist Finn's charms, but like almost everyone else who comes into contact with Finn finds him too hard to resist......or Finn's so stubborn Marcus has no choice but to eventually give in!
I really liked Finn, he had a difference ( besides being human ) I was not expecting in the story that makes him a little more vulnerable at times, but he's determined not to let it hold him back. Lots of action throughout, and I'm SO curious as to who the big bad vampire is, and what he's going to do next.
The narrator Michael Ferraiuolo has recently been added to my fav list, he performs so well with all the snarky banter and distinguishes between the characters really well. He was perfect for this story. Performance = 5 stars.

The Book and the Narration are Amazing!
I really enjoyed reading the book, but OMG the audio!!!! I usually fall asleep or get distracted with audio books, not this one. The narrator Michael Ferraiuolo is fantastic!
He pegs the snark, the sarcasm, and each character has their own unique voice so that it is impossible not to know who is speaking. He takes an excellent book and shoots it into the stratosphere. It's just pure magic!!!
