Publisher's Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

Can a good company become a great one? If so, how?

After a five-year research project, Jim Collins concludes that good to great can and does happen. In this book, he uncovers the underlying variables that enable any type of organisation to make the leap from good to great while other organisations remain only good. Rigorously supported by evidence, his findings are surprising - at times even shocking - to the modern mind.

Good to Great achieves a rare distinction: a management book full of vital ideas that reads as well as a fast-paced novel. It is widely regarded as one of the most important business books ever written.

Good recording, great principles

Well spoken and engaging book. The book has extensive research backing it’s principles.
Sometimes it was hard to know if the great companies were just lucky. They do address this in the book but it’s always back in your mind.

Such a great insight into the inner workings of some of the elite business out there. Jim does a great job reading and narrating the book. Very enjoyable.

Glad I read it

A great book to get you in the groove of good management. I learned a lot. And a lot of what he says agrees with Plato - eg stick to what you know, be disciplined, stay on track. Good read.

Just what I needed

As a small business owner neding some help finding direction, initially I thought id make the wrong choice. At the start I thought this was a book for the corporate world dealing with millions of dollars. I pushed through the early parts of the book and then found myself completely captivated by everything that followed. There really is something for everybody in this book, and Jim's insight into the subject is spot on. I consider it a must-read for any business owner or person in a leadership role.

Great book engaging listen

Listened to the audio book, interesting content and concepts that apply today as they did nearly 20 years ago when the book was written. Fascinating that all the changes in the globalisation of companies, workforces and different ways of working with all the WFH and technology we have, a lot of what he talks about is still very relevant.
