Story
Mankind has lorded over the land of Illian for a thousand years, building on the ruins left by the elves, as if it were their birthright. A thousand years is a long time for an immortal race to see the truth of things, a truth that has remained unsaid for a millennium - elves are superior. They are faster, stronger, and connected to the magical realm in a way that man could never grasp. Illian should belong to them.

Story
Dragons Riders: The last noble warriors in the realm. Only heroes can embolden the ordinary. For centuries, millennia, the Dragon Riders galvanized generation after generation, adding Riders to their ranks and birthing dragons from their eggs. But there are no more heroes. War with the Andarens is like nothing the Riders, nor the armies of Erador, have ever faced. In the place of heroes, there are only soldiers now. Fodder for the machine of war. This time of twilight is set to be the crowning hour of the dark when the light is losing its grip.

Story
Minalan gave up a promising career as a professional warmage to live the quiet life of a village spellmonger in the remote mountain valley of Boval. It was a peaceful, beautiful little fief, far from the dangerous feudal petty squabbles of the Five Duchies, on the world of Callidore. There were cows. Lots of cows. And cheese. For six months things went well: He found a quaint little shop, he befriended the local lord, the village folk loved him, he found a sharp young apprentice to help out, and, best yet, he met a comely young widow with the prettiest eyes.

Story
Everyone loves Mathias. Naturally, when he discovers it’s his destiny to save the world, he dives in headfirst, pulling his best friend, Aaslo, along for the ride. However, saving the world isn’t as easy, or exciting, as it sounds in the stories. The going gets rough, and folks start to believe their best chance for survival is to surrender to the forces of evil, which isn’t how the prophecy goes. At all. As the list of allies grows thin and the friends find themselves staring death in the face, they must decide how to become the heroes they were destined to be.

The Echoes of Fate Will Not Be Forgotten. The Words Uttered a Thousand Years Ago Will Come to Pass, and a New Age Will Dawn....
War is set to ravage Illian. The elves sail from the east. The savage Darkakin rise from the south. Valanis, the dark elf, is finally free of his prison and eager to see his work finished. Only then will he be free of the gods who still haunt him.
A new hope rises in The Red Mountains. There, the last remaining dragons have been discovered. Gideon and Galanör, human and elf, will have to work together if they are to convince Adriel, the last of the Dragorn order, to intervene in the coming war.
Devoid of hope and unsure what road to take, Asher and his companions must decide what role they will play as the realm unravels into bloodshed. The only weapon known to rival Valanis' power is in a place the ranger has avoided for a long time, a place where, until now, neither man nor elf would dare to tread.
Civil war has shattered the empire in The Arid Lands as the slaves make their stand against the highborns. But, while revolution brews, a greater threat looms. As a thunderous cacophony of steel and savagery marches through The Undying Mountains, who will stand before this army of death....

An Exciting Read
If you like a good action read, go no further than the Empire of Dirt, the second book in The Echoes Saga.
With all sorts of magical creatures, from Elves to dragons to Gods and monsters, and even a touch of romance. Asha and his friends come alive as they fight their way across a world in the turmoil of war in hopes of saving his people and that of his friends. I could not put this book down and shared myself between the ebook and the audio. What a brilliant writer. A well earned 5 stars.

Great Story But…
Really enjoying the story and characters but the narrator really lets it down. At times it is difficult to tell which character is talking, they are all read with pretty much the same tone.

Outstanding
Just as good as the first book and the way the characters and their relationships are written is just flawless. Great pacing, epic action, violent but in a non gratuitous way with a story that is compelling as it intertwines and developes with the characters. Excellent performance by Steven brand too. If you liked the way of kings (Brandon Sanderson) or the way of shadows (Brent Weeks) then you will love this series. The action of the night angel trilogy told with the eloquence of the storm light archive.

great fantasy but may trigger some women
action packed with no drawn out scenes, sexy and clever, but warning for those with PTS, captivity and rape (not in detail but does shed light that is the ongoing fate of some characters) but I think it is important to clarify that for some, with this though she is a strong, fierce and a warrior of body and mind in character and it expresses this the whole time building up tension for her revenge and victory which helped softened the situation and add more depth to story.
