Story
Tap into the wisdom of the body with down-to-earth practices like “Surrendering to the Breath” and “Befriending Feelings” that allow the body to become the source of mindfulness. Willa Blythe Baker introduces meditation practice as the cultivation of a way of being, rather than a way of doing. It is a way of being that is self-aware, self-compassionate, and embodied. This way of being is not limited to practice on the cushion or on the yoga mat—somatic mindfulness is available at any moment, activated by attention to the body’s wisdom and its teachings.

This raises a crucial question: How can we minimize the potential dangers of mindfulness for survivors while leveraging its powerful benefits?

Long before the sword-wielding heroes of legend readily cut down forests, slaughtered the old deities, and vanquished their enemies, there were playful gods, animal-headed kings, mischievous lovers, trickster harpists, and vegetal magicians with flowering wands. Beautiful, Elegant and Inspiring
This book is inspired by a beautiful idea that is artfully, thoughtfully, masterfully brought to fruition. It is meditation just to listen to, the author's voice is full of feeling yet soothing. The guided visualisations also sound powerful to do. The one big drawback is that there appears to be no PDF available with this audio book. I do believe that this is one audiobook that absolutely needs the PDF. Much of what is important is either in Sanskrit or Tibetan and it feels essential to see how these words are spelled. Because they aren't just words, they are mantras, incantations and need to be pronounced correctly, or at least not guessed at. The visualisations need to be followed step by step. For this reason, even though this is so beautifully read, I would recommend buying the readable version of this book if it must be a choice.
