Story
The only life Tress has known on her island home in an emerald-green ocean has been a simple one, with the simple pleasures of collecting cups brought by sailors from faraway lands and listening to stories told by her friend Charlie. But when his father takes him on a voyage to find a bride and disaster strikes, Tress must stow away on a ship and seek the Sorceress of the deadly Midnight Sea. Amid the spore oceans where pirates abound, can Tress leave her simple life behind and make her own place sailing a sea where a single drop of water can mean instant death?

Story
It would be sheer folly to try to conceal the true nature of Althalus, for his flaws are the stuff of legend. He is, as all men know, a thief, a liar, an occasional murderer, an outrageous braggart, and a man devoid of even the slightest hint of honor. Yet of all the men in the world, it is Althalus, unrepentant rogue and scoundrel, who will become the champion of humanity in its desperate struggle against the forces of an ancient god determined to return the universe to nothingness.

Rich content delightfully narrated
I loved this story, both the perspective from the other side of the rift wars to the complex machinations of the game of the Council. Underpinning this is the powerful female ruler, Mara, beautifully and compellingly narrated by Tania Rodrigues. Loved every word

An all time favourite...
I've loved these book since I was a teenager and read them many times. It was strange at first hearing name pronounced differently but once I got used to that I was engrossed as ever. Brilliant story that I wish could go on forever...

great story. average narration
Narrator was too fast, Had to set to 95% to make it sound natural/right.
Also a minor annoyance was her narration seemed to be clipped every sentence (or two). like she recoded each sentence individually and they were put together. again the 95% speed helped with this.
Otherwise her voice and reading narration/different characterization was good.
*Addition* Think I may have downloaded this as one big file and that may have had something to do with the clipping. Either way the 95% play speed helped.
