Publisher's Summary

A new world. A new life. A chance to start over.

Through no fault of his own, Joe’s life was starting on a downward spiral. Bad things can happen to good people, but this is not much comfort for those who are treading water, trying not to be drowned by misfortune.

Luckily, sometimes people can catch a break, a chance to start over.

When he's transported to an alternate Earth full of magic, wonder, and light RPG elements, Joe just wants to build a comfortable life. He begins to put down roots and make friends in the port city of Lockwood.

But can he make a home for himself when fire spirits scorch his bathroom, demon dogs trample his rose garden, and countless other magical mayhem threatens his peace?

Don't miss the start of the cozy fantasy LitRPG series that proves that even in the quietest lives, the most dramatic things happen. A recipe gone awry because you lack one important ingredient and you need to make this cake for someone you love for their birthday, which happens to be the next day. Low stakes? Nah.

Now add magic, dragons, spirits, and gods. And Joe.

Joe is a cool guy.

You'll like Joe.

Had Potential

Had a lot of potential but didn't seem to go anywhere. It lost me pretty early and seemed like a lack of development in the character once he got the house in the village. I was expecting him to develop relationships, crafting etc but I found myself tuning it out for large chunks, thinking, it'll start kicking off soon but it never did.

had a good start but became lackluster

I really liked the story at first but lost interest when he is just a weak willed push over. I thought there would be more crafting and relationship development

AI assisted?

This story just feels off, there are many inconsistencies. Transported into a fantasy world with middle age technology but somehow the Sheriff got into his car and drove off with the engine roaring at some point? It was really random, especially since he ran into the scene.
Generally bland with weird unexplainable events like the one mentioned above.

Falls short of mediocre.

The performance is great, the story not so much. The main character is constantly confused about everything, all of the time. They are massively risk adverse even to the point of their own detriment when dealing with anything even remotely looking like conflict. It’s just one of those stories where the setting sounds fascinating and the powers are neat but the main character is less interesting than a dull stone.
