I refer to the great work of God that is going on in Wales at this time, and I trust that something more than curiosity makes you desire to hear of this work, for I am not speaking with any intention to satisfy curiosity. I want now in the simplest way to speak to you first, very briefly and as far as it is possible, of what my own eyes have seen, my own ears heard, and my own heart felt.

Instead of focusing on the many miracles or experiences of suffering, however, Yun prefers to focus on the character and beauty of Jesus.

Publisher's Summary
There are few people who have so given their lives for the lost like Jonathan Goforth (1859-1936). His impact on China is undeniable. His ministry was characterized by dedication, resilience, and a deep commitment to sharing the message of Jesus Christ. As a young man, he experienced a profound spiritual awakening during a revival meeting, which marked the beginning of his lifelong devotion to spreading the truth of Jesus.
In 1888, he and his wife, Rosalind Bell-Smith, embarked on their journey to China as missionaries under the covering of the Canadian Presbyterian Mission Board. Jonathan’s life has resonated with passionate men and women of God because he did not start out as a success. As matter of fact, he shares the very personal story of how his first 13 years as a missionary seemed to be objectively a failure, especially compared to those who had come before him or were experiencing revival in other parts of the world at that time.
However, he was given Charles Finney’s autobiography, and it changed his life, leading to decades of revivals that followed. It didn’t come easy. He made an unwavering decision to seek revival no matter the cost, and he certainly paid a high price for it.
Jonathan Goforth's impact extended far beyond his own lifetime. His emphasis on personal holiness, dependence on prayer, and his willingness to adapt his methods to reach the people left an indelible mark on the missionary movement.
Jonathan Goforth's life story is a testament to the transformative power of faith, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to the call of God. His pioneering efforts in China and his legacy of revival, and passion for Jesus continue to impact generations, encouraging believers to step out in faith and share the Gospel with a world in need of hope and salvation.
