Story
To Porterhouse College, Cambridge, famous for rowing, low academic standards. and a proud cuisine, comes a new Master, an ex-grammar-school boy, demanding Firsts, women students, a self-service canteen, and a slot-machine for contraceptives. Story
Fiona, Sue, and Daisy, three retired ladies who volunteer at the local charity shop, Dogs Need Nice Homes, can’t believe their favorite customer is dead. Eighty-six-year-old Sarah Brown was found murdered in her hallway by her delivery man, a domino clutched in her hand—with a name scratched on it. When another person is found dead with a domino in their hand, and with the police making no progress, the ladies will need to help unmask a serial killer. At least they have Fiona’s scruffy-haired terrier cross to assist them.

Story
Harry feels downtrodden. Downtrodden by senior management, who have decided to retire him, and by his meddling, sex-obsessed father in law. But mostly by his wife, Hilda. And she tells him they must retire to Cornwall. Harry takes up a creative writing course, through which he can live out his fantasies - fantasies of murdering his wife. But Hilda reads his story and, lost on Bodmin Moor, is confronted with devil worshippers, a convicted call centre worker with a habit of cutting off fingers, and a birdwatching hitman.

Story
Somewhere on the frontier between thought and reality exists the Discworld, a parallel time and place that might sound and smell very much like our own, but which looks completely different. Particularly as it’s carried though space on the back of a giant turtle (sex unknown). It plays by different rules. But then, some things are the same everywhere. The Disc’s very existence is about to be threatened by a strange new blight: the world’s first tourist, upon whose survival rests the peace and prosperity of the land.

Story
John Fuller-Carp, the Machiavellian head of chambers at Forecourt Buildings, is determined to become a QC and will perform almost any moral contortion to achieve his goal. When left-wing Ruth Quirke, rumoured to be a High Court judge's daughter, applies to join his chambers, Fuller-Carp's imagination goes into overdrive and promotion seems inevitable. However, his attempts to project a 'New Labour' image cut no ice with Ruth, and the two are soon at each other's throats.

Tom Sharpe is a very funny man
Blott on the Landscape is one of the funniest books I’ve read (or had read to me). I love Tom Sharpe’s work and I hope more of his books become audiobooks. David Suchet knows this story well having played Blott in the dramatisation of this book - he’s brilliant.

4 stars all round.
David Suchet's reading does full justice to a very funny Tom Sharpe novel. Wish he'd do more in this vein.

Funny but rude
Quite enjoyable. much foreshadowing that builds tension and humour, with enough surprises. Unpredictable. Very funny.
